Poem: Too much love???

My heart can't cope,
There's not room enough,
I'm just human.

Lord, why are You pouring so much love over me?

A very nice poem. I feel the same way. The same way as when I want to love Him as much as I can, yet I can't have as great love as He has!

His love is beyond any love we have, He has given us of His love, yet by ourselves we are incapable of loving at all! We need of His love first before we can learn to love, as well as have any love within us too.

I figured out the answer to my question right after I posted the poem. His love was too much for me to hold, and it both turned into praise and then it got poured out over you and a few other people. His love is amazing. Freely we have received, so we can freely give! And He gives so much!!! We love, because He is love!!!

First of all; I completely agree with what you wrote over here. God's love is beyond our capability of fully understanding it. We understand it to some degree if you look at a mother's love for a child, or how parents should love their children unconditionally, but even then, it is flawed compared to God's love!

The more we get filled up by His love, the more we are capable of loving the way He does and thinks! Not by ourselves, as we too are flawed, but through Him we learn how to manage doing this. Same way as we manage to forgive easier as well, because of His love and freedom given to us. All of this, when done from a honest and truthful heart, can only be managed through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yet it is amazing when one can see such a change happening over you, when you realize you are capable of doing this. It is a choice yet also a selfless act, based from what God teaches us through His love and mercy.

Oh, the underlined part; It reminds me of a documentary I watched about the singer Keith Green(do you know of him?). When they were discussing about selling his music, he told them he wanted to give out his music for free because Jesus had mentioned about us giving everything we had gotten freely for free to others as well. The music producers tried explaining for him that it didn't work that way. But I think Keith Green had a great thought, he wished to reach out to people with his music, which he also dedicated for his Lord Jesus Christ.

God is so awesome! After I read your message, and I was listening to the song, God suddenly helped me deal with a lot of anxiety and guilt that has been overcoming me lately. I cried for a while, got a lot of pain out of my heart, and I got filled with so much love and forgiveness! He then reminded me of how I'm His child and how much I belong to Him, something that I have been struggling with lately.

I was reminded of this song:

I am soooo happy for you that God helped you through with what you were struggling with earlier. He is always faithful, and He will not stop what He has began in us. He will continue till He gets finished with the work within us.

It is a lovely feeling when we get reassured by Him that we are His child, and that He reminds us of belonging to Him. Especially when it is directly shown by Him, because He also reaches out to us in a personal level.

I love that song too! Though I have heard It sung by Carman first time, but this one is really nice too!
