A week ago from today the General Conference started another Trademark lawsuit with a church in Tennessee (1 Cor. 6:1-8). This is a little more personal to me because I've talked to these people before and they're very nice.

Anyways, please pray that God will be with these people..

Is this a case over the TM name SDA with an independent SDA church? If so, GC had no case. They already lost a similar case vs a gay SDA group.

There are too many tithe problems to list! I am one of those people who "sighs and cries" over these things, like the Bible describes.

The Trademark issue, for me, is extremely important and I've been following it with earnesty. It truly leaves me speechless that our leaders can continue in such activities regardless of what the Bible says.

To me, this is the leaders going to the world (that waves a red flag right there) with their problems, and not trusting in Jesus to handle things. As A.T. Jones once put it to so eloquently in regards to lawsuits, "It is a very rejection of the Sabbath commandment."

http://csda.us/MissMorganLettertoGC.html <-- I suggest taking the time to read this letter. This Adventist lady from Wisconsin sums up my opinion.

I feel bad talking this way, especially with other people looking in from the outside, but I must be honest. There is no way to sugar coat that our church has some issues to overcome.

Adventism is becoming nothing more than guerrilla warfare.

These actions certainly seem to be in violation of this biblical counsel:

1 Corinthians 6:1 If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church! 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6 But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers!

7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.

I guess they must not consider those whom they are suing fellow believers. How else could they justify disregarding the Bible like this? I agree that they should be using the money for evangelism instead.

it is not the church, it is the people IN it, I don't care how many lawsuits there are and who is responsable. Eventhough we may be the mosy Bible based religion out there, that doesn't mean it's members are perfect Christians. Noone is perfect, no matter what postion in the church they are. Anyone can fall.
