  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please pray for my son John Matthew. He has been tested positive for Babinski's reflex. He's 3 years old and 4 months. This means there is damage of the nerves from head to spine. It has many causes such as head injury, brain tumour, etc. He is getting an MRI this Wed to find out the cause. (today is Mon here). Please pray for him. I'm so scared for him. I'm praying that God will perform a miracle and complete cure him without need for surgery. :(

UPDATE:
my dad actually was against the MRI, he wanted us to get a second opinion. So after two days of fasting and praying, we had a visit to two other nuerologists today. was shocked that they both couldn't reproduce the babinski reflex anymore. It was so obvious during the first doctor's visit. The first doc even did the test twice in front of myself, my wife, and my mother. So now, we are breathing a sigh of relief and thanking God. As a father, I'm still kind of worried that he might have something in his brain, but both nueros today suggested there is nothing that would show urgency in having an MRI. They suggested that since there is no babinski, there are no symptoms that would suggest a tumour. And one of them even added that babinski without other symptoms is not a definite sign of a tumour either. I'm still sort of in shock and a bit of disbelief. God answered our prayers and healed my son :) Or at least removed the babinski reflex in two days. Thanks to all who prayed for him :)
oh yes, the reason we don't want an MRI done is because it would require sedation so the child doesn't move. And apparently, the only vein you can find in a child his age is on his HEAD! They will shave part of his head and stick the IV in the vein there....eew. I hope no kid ever has to go through that.

We are praying but please urge your family to proceed with any and all medical practices that are required to help your son. Remember, God gives all talents to everyone, regardless if they are believers or not, and that includes doctors and the professionals that created the various life saving procedures and technology.

Thank you for all your prayers. I've actually been a nervour wreck the few days before yesterday's visit to the nueros. Both neuros suggested an mri isn't urgently needed at there are no more symptoms present that would require one. I'm not too fond of the idea of sticking a needle on my child's head either so I think we'll postpone the MRI for now. We were also advised to bring him to a neuro at least 2x a year for checkup. So I think we'll do that for now.

May you feel the presence of the Lord, and know if your child was healed in His name. Prayers to you and yours!

It certainly seems as if a sigh of relief is in order.

It makes me wonder if God performs miracles that we're all just too dumbstruck to acknowledge! He must get so frustrated with us sometimes. Alas...He knows we're only human. :)
