  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Please pray for my Pastor!!

Last night after our service my pastor told me he is suffering from depression and is extremly stressed because of extreme family issues. Because of this he is now on medication. He is one of the sweetest, most loving, compassionate men I know. He is always there for everyone and is truely lead by the Holy Spirit. I ask you all to please pray that the Lord lifts these feelings from this dear man.
Thank you and God Bless!!!

Praying for your pastor. :prayer: I think many times ministers are under more pressure than anyone. They get so wrapped in trying to help everyone in their congregation that they neglect themselves. We often forget they are just like you and I. The only difference is that God has given them a different job to do.

as mrstace said ministers ARE under alot of pressure, one thing I have seen, is alot of churches do not honor their pastor.

maybe get him a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant so him and his wife can go out?

get a bunch of people together and collect enough money to send them away for a weekend.

just thoughts

Good suggestions, YouthPastor. October is Pastor Appreciation month. Maybe your church can do something to let him know that he is appreciated. Perhaps a covered dish dinner in his and his wife's honor. Not that that is an overnight cure all, but it always helps to know that you are appreciated. Too many times we forget to let our pastor's know this.

Will pray for him too! :prayer:

Yesturday morning before the service I presented my pastor and his wife with a card and money I had collected so they can go out to dinner. I told them how much we all love them and are so very gratefull for all they do for us and that they are a wonderful example for a marriage. They were so shocked, it was a wonderful way to show them how we feel about them. I thank everyone for the prayers and the suggestions. I think they will truely enjoy some time alone at a nice restaurant.
Thanks again everyone, for everything!!

yay... saying three prayers:

one for your pastor :prayer:
and one in gratitude that God has given you to your pastor and church
and one (hundred thousand) for my pastor, who's under extreme pressure too, and feeling really attacked at the moment.

I think it's true that often church members don't support their pastors the way they should. These guys should be pampered like expensive racehorses!

Thank you so much for your prayers.

I'm sorry to hear about your pastor. I will be praying for him. :prayer: I agree, they should be pampered. Anyone that does the Lords work like that should be.
