  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would really appreciate it if you would pray for a good friend of mine who is struggling. Her name is Ashley. In the last two years, she has slowly lost her faith and now she doesn't have the strength to get it back. It all started when her very best friend died of cystic fibrosis at age 19. Since then her life has slowly gone down into the pits, especially in the last year. She's had a lot of bad experiences, things that have hurt her deeply, and has compromised her beliefs. I have tried to help her (I'm the only one she trusts anymore), but most of the time she did not want anything to do with God. And when she did want to be close to Him, she couldn't. She finds it very difficult if not impossible to pray to Him.

There's some good news though. I saw a change in her two nights ago. She told me that she was ready to come back to the Lord. But she needed help because she couldn't do it alone. She doesn't really know how. But that night she told me that she gave everything to God. She couldn't stand how her life was anymore, so she gave control of her life back to God. And she prayed to Him. And yesterday she had a superb day! Something has changed in her and she is now willing to listen to me. She is seeking God again. So I want you all to pray for her. That she would continue to seek Him and that she would find some more Christian friends. And that she would not fall away again. And pray for me too, for the wisdom and the strength to help her.

Thank you,
Keith

I pray for this young lady, to be on fire for you Jesus. Let the peace that surpasses all understanding rule in her heart and mind.
I also hold up Keith, he has asked for wisdom Lord, and we know it is your will for him to have it in this matter. So let your will flow through the Holy Spirit and keep him growing in strength and wisdom. In Jesus name!

I have another update for you all:

Ashley's doing much better, but she still does not feel comfortable with the idea of going to church. She hasn't been in church since Easter Sunday. She described it as something like she knows God wants her to go to a church now, but part of her doesn't want to. And that part of her is winning. So please pray that her faith would be strengthened even more and that she would be open to the idea of going to church again. That she would want to go and that she would enjoy it.

Thank you all!
-Keith
