  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wow. I feel terrible. My mom and I were just walking out of the door this morning, leaving for church. My mom didn't feel like driving, so I told her I would. My dad had just let Boomer, my dog, outside. He likes to run away, so we have to keep him on a chain attached to the garage. And he's black, so he kind-of blends in with the pavement on our driveway. . . So I was backing out of the garage. . and you can just guess what happened.

He can barely move his back legs. He's really old too. Now my dad and sister are taking him to the emergency vet about 45 minutes away (because it's Sunday, and the vet right down the street isn't open). So just please pray for my dog.

OK. Just got more news. He has a fractured pelvis and a dislocated left hip. He will be in the hospital for 4-5 days. They did say that there is no nerve damage, so that's good news.

When he comes home, we have to keep him in a cage or small room so he doesn't walk around. He's now on morphine and has a pain patch, so he's pretty happy right about now. :p

And get this. When they checked out his X-ray, they found a BB pellet in his back left leg. Somebody shot my dog! But it didn't cause any damage, so that's good. I wonder how long that's been there. . .

Anyway, thanks for the prayers, but keep 'em coming! I'll keep you updated.

Well. We called the vet this morning, and they can't do surgery today because there are a few dogs there that are in critical condition, so he can wait. But we just got news that there may be something wrong with his kidneys, so they can't operate yet anyway. They are going to keep a close eye on him and see if there is a problem there or not.

Thanks again for your prayers, but we still need them! :prayer:

 Well, we thought everything was going OK. Then we found out about his kidneys. Last night the doctor called and said it was worse than they thought. His kidneys failed and they said he probably wasn't going to make it though the night. We had to put him down.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Of course I miss him a whole lot, and I wan't him back. It doesn't seem fair. But I know God is taking care of him now, and I will see him again some day.

HEAVEN'S DOGGY DOOR
My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.

But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "you should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a "doggy-door"!
