• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Please pray for me this week!

If any of you happen to think of me this week, I have all of my final exams and. . .I could really use prayer. I am especially nervous about tomorrow when I have to perform before judges. The piece has to be memorized and it is extremely difficult (especially since I've only know for three weeks that I'd be playing it. . .it wasn't even learned then!) and I'm not at all confident on my memorization job. I realize that I'm not quite so nervous about it now, but I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight for thinking of it. So, if you could please remember me in your prayers, I'd be ever so thankful.

I'll be praying for you. I also have finals this week, and we only get one reading day before exams begin. I spent the last week pulling overnighters to finish final papers and projects, and am coming into this week with all the stress from that.

Don't worry. Do your duty, and leave the consequences to God. You've got my support.

In reading your post, then the Calvin quote beneath it I know you're in good hands and it will go well! I will pray that our Lord bring you ease and confidence as you perform!

Wish we could hear it!

Thanks for reminding me of my signature! I find, to my shame, that I pray so hard for the Lord to help me when I perform and then, when the time comes, I'm often so wrapped up in my own inability that I forget that I'm in the Lord's hand! At times like these, all of my failures flaunt themselves in my face, raging through my brain, reminding me of "all the times I've tried before and failed. And they say, 'You'll never win.'" But, how sweet have the times been when I've played with one thought running through my mind, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I'm playing for the glory of God; if He be glorified, then it matters not what man may think." It is at times like these when I realize what a comfort God's sovereignty really is to His people.

Thank you, everybody for your prayers. It means so much to me to know that my beloved brethren will be uplifting me in prayer as I play.

BTW, I wish I could play for you! I love playing for friends!

I'll pray for you too! I know what you mean by the stress. . .I've been stressing over this week since early November! And, to make my week harder, my first exam, which was supposed to be last Friday, was cancelled due to "Severe weather conditions " (i.e. three inches of snow) which melted the same day anyway. So now, it is rescheduled for next Monday and I'll have to study for it all over again!

It's finals over here too; I know how you feel. ;)

You're in my prayers.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. My performance went really well. . .I only messed up once! I still don't know what my grade is, but I'm sooo glad that it's over! Now, just four more finals and I'm off for a month!

Thought that I'd mention that I had an awesome surprise today! Alright. For the entire semester, I've received a grade of A- on every single paper that I've written for English class. It was sort of annoying because the papers were handed back without any corrections and my prof always said, "Good paper! Very good paper." If you know me, I was getting a little irritated. It seemed that he being stubborn and just wouldn't give me an A without that destestable little minus sign (now ya'll know I'm a perfectionist! :D). I'm afraid that I'm one of those people who like to excel in everything and I'm never really happy with a grade lower than I think that I can earn. Today, I received two major papers back and they both got just A's! I saw the grades and my eyes popped out of my head, my jaw dropped down to the floor, I almost started cheering. . . Anyway, that is my good news! I'm so thankful to God that He let my semester end that way!

I just thought it was kind of funny since I was starting to think of him as Scrooge! All of my friends have ranted and raved about how much they hate their English teachers. . .I like mine, but I ranted and raved out of sheer desperation! I wanted to ask him, "What on earth do I have to do to make you happy?!?" Some people are just so hard to please!
