Please, please, please pray for my Dad

My Dad has just found out that he has lost his job with just no notice, for no apparent reason, with one weeks wages in his hand!

He has fragile mental health at the best of times (he has a history of severe depression, and is on meds daily for this). Any slight knock to his confidence can set off another depressive episode (the last time he was in a psychiatric hospital for nearly 7 months ). He came in the front door on the verge of tears (I rarely see my Dad cry, he doesn't 'do' tears) and I am worried about him. The first words that came out of his mouth were 'everything I touch I ruin' (words that I have heard all too often before, and I dread what they become the start of )

Please, if you could keep us in your prayers, it would be much appreciated, Brothers and Sisters. Thank you so, so much.


Gracious Father, help us...please. Give me the strength to be the rock for my family, as you are the Rock for me. Please give us peace and patience and open our eyes to this new lesson that You are trying to teach us. I give this problem to You, most merciful, Abba, and through my silent and private tears, I await Your instruction.

Oh, I am very sorry. Something with your post got me to and I felt a bit teary as I prayed. I feel so sorry for your father. It is so hard in these situations to keep the truth in mind that, when God closes one door - he opens another. It is hard for people in his situation to see that right now. I am sure the stress is immense. I prayed he would not go into another depressive episode, the poor thing. He is fortunate to have such as incredible daughter as yourself. Thank you all so, so much for your prayers

Since I posted this yesterday, I've felt no stress at all (which is so unlike me, to be honest). Whenever I feel myself thinking about how we'll cope (or not), I suddenly feel this peace descend upon me, and I stop feeling negative instantly (it's amazing, I've never felt this before).

Truly, Father, you are so amazing. Thank you for everything, both good and bad (as without the bad there would be no reason to turn to You for comfort and ease). Thank you for being there for me, in my times of need, and thank you for giving me strength and peace (that I'm able to use to help my family around me). Thank you, most merciful Father.

If that is not meant to be then I ask for thy strength and for new doors to be opened for him, and that he will get a job that he will get even a better job than the one he had.
