Things have a way of turning out better than we expected, Mary, when we fear the worst. Plus, I believe we all find the prayers of the people on here very helpful. Don't be surprised if Dave's daughter is a lot more circumspect and courteous to you than her brothers were.

Dave's daughter is the instigator of this whole cruel plot against me.
Her hatred of me was apparent from the beginning.
Her abuse has been the most severe of any of them.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that, Mary. I hope you gave as good as you got, but you sound too gentle and genteel for that. In my experience (and it is said by my church that turning the other cheek is a counsel of perfection), it seems almost like a relief to those types if you eventually turn on them.

But I'm not saying that is the case here. I should think that your natural/supernatural dignity is an admirable asset in a family situation.
