My Special needs daughter Krystal is schedualed for some minor surgery this Wed.'s May 4th. @ Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital. She is having a small growth we think to be a simple benign cyst on her right arm removed. It has grown some & changed in appearence in the past few mth's & so that is why we are removing it @ this time. While she is already going to be under anisthiesea they are also going to take a muscle biopsy from 1 of her thighs to be tested for a condition that a few of her Dr.'s are feeling she's gone undiagnosed for. This is supposed to be an out-patient type surgery barring any complications we'll be able to come home the same day.


While this is a simple surgery even the healthiest persons are @ risk when being put under anithieasea. Krystal has seizures that have been becomming worse & more unpredictable & more difficult to control over the past year. Fortunately surgery is not something that we've had to become accoustomed to. This will be her 1st. surgery really. She had tubes put into her ears as an infant but she's never had anything that left her with scares. So I'm feeling a little anxiety. Being a single mom, I don't have a husband to lean on @ times like this. And it would help me to know that many other christians are praying for Krystal along with me.

"Father God, as always I first want to Thank You for each day you Bless me with Krystal & I togeather. And Thank You for bringing her to me & choosing me to be her Mom.

Father forgive my human nature to feel anxious about Krystals surgery. Please help me to feel your perfect peace that passes our understanding. Please help me not to let Krystal feel my anxiety. We aren't certain how much she understands but please help her to feel Loved & safe & secure. Bless her with your angles all around her, to watch over her. Father suround her & protect her with the blood of your son Jesus, that no harm will come to her. Give her safe happy loving dreams when they put her to sleep.

Lord Father Please give her brain rest from seizures before, during & following her surgery, & protect her brain from further damage. Please protect her throat from damage when they intabate her for the surgery so she can continue to eat by mouth & not have a need for future surgery to place a feeding tube.

Lord please prepare the hearts & minds of the Surgeon, the anesthieasiologist & surgical team, the pre-op staff, & the post-op staff, the lab tech's that will be sticking her for blood & I.V., to recieve & care for Krystal kindly & considerately & not treat her like an object with no feelings.

Father God Please keep your hand on the situation. I pray that this surgery goes as simple as it should & without any problems or complications. Help her to heal quickly without any infection.

Lord, Ultimately I know & have always told people, that she is Your child & I know that you could call her home any time, I know each day I have with her is a gift. But, Please Abba, Please,... forgive me,... I'm not prepared for good-byes yet. Aside from you Father, she is ALL I have & I can't even imagine my life without her.

Again, Thank You for each day you Bless me with Krystal & I togeather. And Thank you for choosing me to be her mom. We Love You & we Praise you Father God. Thank-you for ALL the Blessings you bestow on us daily. Thank-you for always Blessing us with ALL our needs & beyond. Thank You for Loving me even when I don't deserve your Love. Thank-you that we belong to You & that some day we'll be home with you forever. Forgive me my sins & wash me clean. Help us to bring Honer & Glory to You & your Son Jesus. Use us to shine your light to those you put in our path.

Dear Lord.....I come to you asking for your special healing spirit on this family. You are faithful and we trust in your dear Lord that you have a great and special plan for this special little girl. Please can you provide this little girl's mother a strong christian support unit before, during and after the surgery. She is loved and protected by your loving grace. Dear Lord I ask this in your Holy and Precious Name......Amen!

Krystal will be 14yr's old this summer July 30th.

We have been soo very blessed with her being a pretty healthy kid in comparison to other kids we've known through her therapy clinic's & other organizations that we've been involed with.

It is felt that her changing Hormones over the past year are the cause of her seizures worsening & becomming harder to control with medication

Dear Lord.... We thank you for this opportunity to come to you with our needs in our lives. Knowing and trusting that you will take care of us according to your will. Please be over this child of yours today. Help the team of doctors and nurses to do their jobs correctly and safely today. Please give comfort to the mother of this child. Let her know that you are absolutely present is her life and will love and protect her.....how great you are dear Lord......Amen!

Hey everyone!

"THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, for all your prayers!!!!" It Really helped me sooo much to know that so many People were praying for Krystal.

"THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU LORD, for hearing & answering all the prayers that went up for Krystal. And THANK-YOU for another Mothers Day with Krystal & I togeather. We PRAISE your precious name Jesus!!! Amen"

Sorry it's taken soo long to report back. We were exhuasted & slept as much as possible when we got home last Wed's. And Thur's we slept alot more. Wow, I can't believe how much it took out of me. But then again, I wasn't able to sleep much for several nights prior to the surgery due to worries. Plus, I've had my 1yr. old nephew here day & night since Thur's morning, he's a VERY BUSY baby. Actually I've been having him pretty near 24/7 for the past couple mth's, but that's another story. That's why I'm hardly ever on-line anymore. After we got back from church & lunch with my Mom,... his Mom finally came & took him late this afternoon, & I got to get a late nap with Krystal. And It looks like I have the whole night off, so I wanted to get on here while I've got a little time with just Krystal & I here & get this update posted.

So, to Update how things went,.....
AWESOME!!!! PRAISE GOD!!! Everyone was very considerate with Krystal & making her comfortable. They let us stay with her b4 surgery & we (her regular nurse who's become a family friend over the past 5yr's, but still didn't have to be there,.. "I Thank- You God for Lynn") prayed with her. They even numbed her arm b4 they put the I.V. ,that's NEVER happened b4!! She's very brave & quite used to being stuck & never cries but shows her discomfort other ways, & she's difficult to get a vein. But, they only had to stick her the one time,... well 2 if ya count the numbing shot to the area. They had a t.v. that they put her PBS shows on while we waited. The Dr. came into talk with us. And, the Anesthieasiologist & others on the surgical team came in 1 by 1, to meet us & introduce themselves to us, a while b4 they took her. And they all answered my concerns.

When they took her for the surgery,...They EVEN let her take her stuffed Happy Hannah dog that say's sweet things like "God made you extra special" & sings a few songs like "Jesus Loves me". ANNNND they EVEN let her listen to a NEWSBOYS casset I made her, cause she loves NB's, with headphones!!!!!! They still had her tape playing when I tracked her down in the post-op where I wasn't supposed to be allowed,.. but LOL try to stop THIS MOMMY!!! It had been a bit tooo long since the Dr. had come out & told me she was done & I was gettin worried, so I found out where to find her & off I went. She was just waking & I got them to let me in for a few min's to let her know mom was there. They then directed me through another door off that room where they were gonna be takin her in 10min's that we could be with her, till she'd be allowed to go home. There was a scary moment in there when we changed her ever so carefully & her thigh incision started to bleed out quite alot!!! A pressure dressing was applied & the Dr. came into check it b4 we left & he added more dressing to both her thigh & her arm. And, we aren't to change it till we see him. So I haven't actually seen either incision yet, but from what I can tell they don't look very large.

So the surgery went well & she didn't have any seizures. Friday morn., she had a really bad day with mutiple seizures that just wouldn't stop for a few hours. But, Thankfully not while she was in surgery. She seems to be healing quickly. We're supposed to go into the Dr's, Tuesday to get the incisions checked, her stiches are disolvable so she won't have to get those snipped. Mabey they'll have the pathology report back to let me know for certain that the growth on her arm was indeed benign. I prolly won't know anything right away about the muscle biopsy testing for the other condition they suspect she's gone undiagnosed for. Oh & she's eatting as well as she normaly does,... considering it's NOT her favorite thing to do. So the intabation in her throat to control her breathing during surgery went smoothly as well.

I think that's everything? Another loooong post sorry. Thank's to every1 again for your prayers.

Thank you so much for letting us know how the surgery went. God is great and His loving hands is in all that we do in our lives. I will continue to pray for you and Krystal.
