I am hurting. My family is hurting. When I came to know the Lord almost 20 years ago, I never thought it would be like this. All I ever heard was that He has a wonderful plan for your life. My life is a wreck. Ruined! I have small children and I don't know what to do. Please help!

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Father God, I lift my brother up to You. You know all the details LORD, please intervene in his situation. Those of us who have been where he is can tell of Your faithfulness, mercy, grace and promises. I ask that You whisper Your hope and encouragement to his hurting heart, fill him with anticipation of Your moving in his life. I ask that You minister to him, bringing Your love to him, giving him a deep hunger for Your Word and Your people. I pray that You will send fellow believers alongside him to help and support him. Thank You LORD that You are our Refuge, our Strong Tower, in Jesus' name, amen.

Whatever has happened to your family, remember that God didn't cause it. Keep trusting in Him, and pray for His will to be done. Let him comfort you and be your cliff, and you will find out that He does indeed have a wonderful plan for you.

Those people were right. There is a plan for your life, and blessings await you if you follow it.
If you are in God's will then hang in there. Open up your Bible and turn to the book of Job. Your life can't be more of a mess then his was, and he kept his faith grounded in God. He knew that he was in God's will, and that gave him the strength to endure
If you are outside of God's will then pray and ask him to show you the way back. He has done it for many of us here, and he will do it for you.
Whatever circumstances you are facing remember that none of them are bigger then God, and he can deliver if its his will. You can't do it alone.

Jesus suffered. Why should we be any different.
Life can be hard sometimes, but if you focus on God
instead of yourself, he will make it better.

perhalps you are judging yorself on other you think are better off, you dont know what is going on in their life either, Everything may look as if they are better off than you but infact, they may be up to their eyeball in depth or unhappy also. you are never alone, there are plenty of people in the world just like you, have faith and remember god does not give us more than we can chew, be stong, dont look too far into the future, tomorrow is an other day that no one can predict,You are better off than me perhalps, you have your own family, a thing which I would love to have, your lucky, be positive, do positive things,

I understand feeling overwelmed with life's struggles. Do not give in to dispair however. When life is difficult for me (and it has been on many occassions) I read the book of Job and am reminded that God does allow us to go through times of trial. It is up to us to decide how we will handle those times of trial.
When I think of my pain, the pain of other people and have my focus there, I am in misery. When in the same circumstance I focus on what is the moral thing to handle the situation and I focus on praying to the Lord that He guide me to do the right thing, then I feel less misery.
Christ told us to come to him all who are weary and heavy laden and He will give us peace. That does not mean all problems are solved immediately, but when we pray and seek to follow the statutes God has given us, we are filled with a peace that is beyond understanding.
That is my wish for you! May the peace of the Lord fill you and your family!

God does have a plan for your life ..you will not know what that plan is untill you look back on your life later on.
Remember God works all things together for good for those who love God and according to his will and plan and his purpose ..for your life.
Sometimes things happen for a reason we cannot see or understand..only God knows all. Trust him to bring you through it and let him carry you through it all.
Don't try to analize things and don't worry.God has you in the palm of his hand,forever....

Lord loves us, do you remember how Joseph was sold to Egypt for slavery and threw in jail for 2 years, yet Joseph never lost faith, sometimes our suffering is for a greater plan, trust him, we will be praying for you, if you would like, you can tell us why your family is hurting, and we will pray for you.leaning said:

This reminded me of a quote I was talking about yesterday. I don't remember the quote verbatim, but it went something like this. A lady was talking about the existence of God and the holocaust. She said some people say there can be no God because there was a holocaust. She said there must be a God because some people did survive.
Maybe if you did not have God now, your troubles would be ten times worse. Sometimes our perception of God is all about how we choose to see things - are you looking for the bad or are you looking for what God is doing?
Just some food for thought.
