Please help, questions about Purgatory and Mary.

I also don't see where it says Mary is more righteous then anyone else. Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on Earth, that is why we ask in His name.

What are the examples of Mary's prayers, and their effects?

In Church teaching and Tradition. . the VERBAL part the scripture tell us to hold to that we hold to . . . why don't you?

I've been doing some more study. And I found something rather interesting.

Luke 11:27-28
27As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."
28He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Why did Jesus react like this?

Jesus also said if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off
sometimes Jesus exaggerated a lot to get the attention of those listining to Him, it is a common practice, His comment turned a blessing from someone in the crowd, just a random thing someone said, into a way to get people thinking about the word of God

Jesus saying Amen!

Mary is not blessed simply becuase she gave birth to Jesus as Protestants always claim but was blessed becuase she indeed heard the word of God and obeyed it- or Jesus would not have been born to her.

It is in support of our beliefs, not in refute.

Do you think a truth becomes more true the more times you say it?

More importantly, do you think God's truth becomes more true the more times the Bible says it?

So, for example, once is dubious, twice is rather more certain, three times is rock solid certainty?

Interesting. I am not sure what denominations take this approach, however.

Meanwhile, if you compare Luke with the other gospels you will find he has many parts of the gospel story that they do not record. This is not a problem to most Christians, but clearly if you look for intensified truth through repetition it might be.

I would feel honoured to know that she interceded for me even one time, for just one minute, because I know her words are heard by God, and her requests are honoured, because of her faith, and her obedience.

Place my trust and hope in Our Lady? Who else can understand me, a Christian woman and mother, as she can?

I know the more modern belief is that Our Lord alone can understand everything, and everyone. That may well be the case, but it does not mean that Our Lady is therefore of no account in heaven. Far from it.

Please help, questions about Purgatory and Mary.
