  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A very good friend of mine has been recently excommunicated from our church for fornication allegations and needs advice. Back in spring, her husband left her and her 3 children without notice and never returned. She has a what is now 1yr old but then was obviously very young and also a 4 yr old and 11yr old. Stay at home mom by request, she did not return to army after baby was born as her husband and our Pastor urged her not to return. She began a friendship with the pastors son who was also the ministry leader at our church. This went a little too far this fall and fornication was suspected. In the meantime, when her husband left unexpectedly she planned on moving Back to her hometown , about 35 minutes away, so she would have family to support her and help her get her life back together. The Pastor and his wife urged her to stay and offered to help financially with rent until the baby was done nursing and she could find a job and eventually get back on her feet. Because she wanted to stay at the church & could not afford to drive back and forth to our 3 weekly mandatory services, she accepted a very pushy offer. She also did not want to uproot her children from their school district. In order to accomplish this, the pastor visited a local apartment complex that other family of his resided and put his name on the lease as well as hers for income purposes. He never had a key, or visited. Shortly after she was excommunicated, the church expected her to still attend every service. She attended a few at first but felt very uncomfortable. because no one would speak to her or make her welcome. In additional, they would go. outout of their way to be very arrogant and rude. They told her that she needed to accept. the holy ghost in her life and then she would be sin free like them and could rejoin. Because she was already alone and very emotionally distraught she decided it would be best to move back to her hometown where her family was awaiting her with open arms, support and guidance. She notified the apartment complex office of her departure. intentions and even requested to have the pastors name removed from the lease for that. time period to ensure he would be held liable for anything past the point of her. excommunication. They refused to do so. While moving her personal belongings, she was seen by the family of the pastor that also lives in that complex. She had a pair of jeans o. (It was cold outside! ) (our church views this as abomination and all women are to wear dresses at all times) and that was reported to the pastor. Two days later she returned to her apartment to retrieve more of their stuff and the locks were changed. Long story short, the pastor smugly shrugged his shoulders and told her he didn't care about her family's needs and that he had everything in the apartment thrown away before he had the locks changed. He instructed her to call the law because he was sure he was above it. She did and the police got in contact with the apartment complexes management team. and from fear of a possible lawsuit for what appeared to be an illegal eviction the. 9manager informed the police that the pastor and 3 other men of the church removed. her belongings and disbursed them amongst themselves.
They told her this was civil, she has to file a court petition to have this all heard by the judge. In the meantime many people have dropped off used clothing and shoes and. things for her family to get by on. How is it OK for anyone especially a pastor to rob in. the name of God?? What can she do? How can she righteously handle this situation? She. needs divine wisdom and advice on this very intriquote and complicated matter Would it. be wrong for her to persue restitution for the large amount of property that was taken? Can she air this on the local news channel for assistance? Thank you in advance for all advice and assistance! Have a blessed holiday!

This is a horror story. I don't like the idea of a church denying anybody or turning someone away. The fact that she wore pants and your Church has rules on this was probably an accident and I think that a simple I'm sorry should do. But this doesnt seem like a Church that would support or try to help her so she might want to find another church and perhaps go home to her family if she can, she probably needs a fresh start. She does need help but I don't want things to get worse for her so maybe going on TV isn't the best idea. Is it possible that she can just go home to her family. I know thats sad because you might lose a friend but what other choice does she have?

First of all the children should always be the main concern.

The doctrine of your church is seriously damaging and how members can belong to such a destructive policy is beyond my comprehension. To separate herself and her children from that seems appropriate, especially since her family has respect for her and her children. They probably aren't aware of the idiotic doctrine saturating that town.

The theft and destruction of private property is a civil matter and should be addressed as such. There will be penalties brought against the church pastor and the members who participated in the removal of her personal belongings. The local newspaper and internet sources would love to hear in detail of such a story.

I recommend that she leave there, go home and pursue legal proceedings immediately. Anyone willing to help her by acting as a witness would certainly help, something written and signed and dated would go a long way in confirming her testimony.

Child support needs to get involved, if of course the man is the father of her children........and never set foot in that church environment again. Shake the dust off her feet and flee that insanity.

Post pictures of the pastor and request if anyone with information on the destruction of your personal property, contact you. Try to get pictures of your things in the homes of everyone involved. Speak with confidence concerning the hurt this has caused her and the uprooting of her family and expose the doctrine of that church on-line as often as possible, especially on their web page.

Go to the newspapers and give this story the coverage it deserves. Show proof of the callous manner in which the pastor and his followers have degraded her and her children. Seek a lawyer who is willing to press charges, nothing ventured, nothing gained for either the lawyer or the lady involved.

Seek out other members of the church that have similar incidents that they too would be willing to share and bring out into the open for all to see. Make that pastor's life a living nightmare for what he has accomplished outside of the limits of the law.

Most importantly, love those children and give them hope for the future. It's terrible that they will have to start a new school, but it should be thel least of her worries. Children have a way of bouncing back, sometimes quicker than the parent. God Bless You.
