• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello Amooana,

Your situation is strikingly similar to the "crushing on the pastor" thread below.

My 2 cents of grandfatherly advice is: RUN away as fast as you can leaving a long trail of dust in your wake. Don't tempt fate. You are feeling uncomfortable which is good. Don't be rude but be careful of saying / doing anything to encourage him. He sounds like a nice well meaning person and thankfully no real harm has been done yet.

Between the ages of 28-30, when I was single, there were 4 women in my life that, if I had followed up and encouraged their "attention" would have in hindsight been DISASTEROUS. I think it's important that you stay close to the Lord ask for strength / guidance. You are His child.

Good counsel was given here, amooama. This man does not sound like a godly man, but acting in the flesh. For your sake (and his own good) get clear of him.

You need to find a godly church fellowship that teaches the Word of God an exalts Jesus Christ as our Savior and object for our spiritual life. You need fellowship with Him and the study of His Word. Read your Bible daily and trust the Lord. If you have the Lord Jesus in your heart He will guide you.

Let me suggest you read and study at the site: www.biblecounsel.net, which is very sound ministry, and one can ask questions there about the Bible. Pray much and make the Lord Jesus your best Friend. Look up always!

I think 1watchman has a better observation. After mentally putting myself in this pastor's place, he may very well be a nice person but also with a possible agenda. A little *too* friendly without the wife being around. After rereading your post I paid closer attention to the creepiness of his behavior.

The enemy of our soul is always looking for the weak spots. It's happened to me many times. That's when we must CHOOSE to make sound biblical and ethical
choices that honor the Lord. At times I made the wrong choice and had to learn from my mistake. I believe you are sincere and really want to please God.

There's support on this forum to help you over the rough spots. I for one will be praying for you.
