  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Almost every relationship I have had with a man has been a very bad experience. Starting with my sister's father who was supposed to be a father figure to me, seeing as I had lost mine in a car accident before I was born. Her father was very abusive both mentally and physically. Just like a terrible curse, those became the same men that I dated. Now, I am with my childhood best friend. He is amazing and treats me better than I ever thought possible. Everything was going very well but now I am plagued with terrible nightmares that he is just downright mean to me, I have them all the time. Since the nightmares began I am now plagued with fears that I am not good enough for him and it's only a matter of time before something takes a turn for the worst or he just leaves... Please help me, I am a Christian and the only thing that has gotten me through my past was my Lord. I pray constantly but for some reason I can not seem to shake these thoughts and dreams. If you have any advice or you can pray for me I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to be the strong Christian woman that I know God has intended I be.

Thank you for your time and God Bless

1. Stop worshipping him. He is a sinner who deserves to go to hell just like the rest of us. It is only by the grace of God that we don't go there. So have a proper view of him.

2. "perfect love casts out fear" Work on developing your love for God.

2a. "Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”"

Meditate in God's word day and night. It is food for your soul. You wouldn't think of going a week without physical food, but every day most christians do not take time to eat their spiritual food, and then they wonder why they don't feel right.

"desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby"

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

If you love God, you will obey Him. He commands us to feed on His word every day. So, if you love Him, you will feast on His word every day. I do not mean in some legalistic way which will entitle you to something extra, or some special favor. We have already been blessed with all spiritual blessings, Eph 1. I mean as an act of appreciation for what you have already been given, how you have already been blessed.

Lord, I pray for this sister, that she would feast on Your word, each and every day. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.

You have obviously been through a lot and it takes time to heal from painful things we experience in life. Is there someone you trust - a pastor or counselor, that you could discuss this with? I will be praying that the Lord will heal your past hurts, and help you to put them behind you. I will also be praying that you will stop having the troubling thoughts and dreams you have been having. God bless you!

Jesus, bring healing to Mandy042886 and help her with the troublesome dreams and thoughts she is having which could jeopardize her peace and relationship.
Jesus, help her to communicate these fears with her bf. Help her to talk things through with you and with him. Help her to keep seeking You and seeking healing of this negative and destructive thought pattern. Jesus, bring peace. Amen.

Not really, I wanted to go to counseling for a while but I don't have insurance so thats not an option. Thats why I signed up here. I have bought a devotional for myself and I am trying my best to give myself to God completely so that he may heal me and I can better serve him. Thank you for taking the time to pray for me and respond. God bless you
