My apologies for doing this, but I've discovered that in order to post in the Christians Only forums, I must be labeled some category of "Christian." Though I object to the label, I'm willing to accept it if it means that I can communicate with my fellow saints of like faith.

In order to change my "faith icon" so that I can post in the Christians only section, I must PM an administrator. But before I can send a PM, I must have at least five posts.

So I'm using this thread to get my five posts. It seemed appropriate to use the OCD forum for this.

May I ask why you object to being called a Christian? And why you figured the OCD forum was a good place to put 'pretend' posts?

The term properly refers to Jews who see Jesus as their Messiah. It likely was first used as a pejorative amongst the people of Antioch where Saul and Barnabas missioned. And Peter refers to his audience, those being "strangers", i.e. Jews of the Diaspora as "Christians." Paul refers to members of the Body of Christ as "saints", never as "Christians." The only time those who are under Paul's ministry are called "Christians" is in Antioch, before his "setting apart" by the Holy Spirit in Acts 13 (and concurrent inscripturated changing of name.)

It's not willy-nilly, believe me. It comes after having studied the issue.

Perhaps it wasn't appropriate. My apologies. I too suffer from compulsive thinking, but not obsessive-compulsive.

I was hoping that people would see the title and, as suggested, would disregard.
