  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone else use plastic canvas for their crafting? I've done it for about 7 years now, though I've only really improved within the last couple of years. I'm working on a Christmas garland of snowmen, skates, and mittens at the moment. It will be for my parents' anniverary next month. :) It's such a relaxing hobby! I usually listen to Sherlock Holmes or watch I Love Lucy as I work. I've memorized so many Lucy episodes that I don't even need to watch them now, LoL!;)

For a while, I made frames with plastic canvas. I would cut out the square for the frame and fill in the holes with fabric paint (like what you paint T-shirst with. The paint sticks very well. I would make the frames small and put magnets on the back so that they could frame my kid's (or grandkids) art work to be put on the fridge. I also made little boxes with them and put very small baloons or teddy bears in them to use as Christmas ornaments. It works great.
