  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How many of you are planning your life based on living forever? When we are "Saved" or "Born Again", the Spirit of God lives in us and that's forever so, why not plan our lives on living forever?

The body dies but the Spirit lives on forever as we take on our new bodies in Heaven and I for one am looking forward to that new body and living forever in Heaven with Christ.

Our lives on Earth are so temporary and short, I think most of us don't fully comprehend actually living forever in the Spirit? Plan your lives now in living forever and you will feel differently about your life here on Earth.

I've had almost everything go right in my life, healthy, good jobs, many of the plans for my life have worked out, I really enjoy living on this planet that God created. I thank God for this over and over.

Yet, I know its not going to last. There is clear evidence that my body is getting old even tho I can still do most of what I could do when I was younger, just not as fast! Tho I understand situations much faster now than I did when I was young.

To me the big thing about eternal life is living with God and all my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I just love fellowship. So I think much of what we have now in our relationships will continue and enhanced as we get to know more and more followers of Jesus.

I look forward to experiencing the world as God intended it to be before sin. I look forward to swimming in the ocean or lakes without fear of creatures that will eat me. I look forward to experiencing animals without that same fear. The world without evil will be a wonderful place and being in a new spiritual body even more wonderful. I do not think it will be boring at all. I do not picture sitting on clouds singing all day and night. It will be different though because we won't have the sun because we will have the SON and He will be the brightness of light for us. Streets of gold fruit for every month on the trees, I cannot hardly wait. I pray everyday, Lord let everyone who is going to get saved to get saved so you can come back soon!
I don't know about planning your life now for eternity though. Other than living my life in a way that God will be pleased with me I'm not sure what you mean.

I mean exactly what you've already explained here! Living your life here that is pleasing to God and doing your utmost best to live the true Christian life as it was meant to live!

In just the short time I have been conversing with you on this new forum, I can clearly see your love for God and your strong faith. Why is it that those who I meet like that are always half way around the world, lol?

I keep praying to meet someone like that who I can share reading the Bible with and just discussing the Lord. It would just be nice to have a female companion/friend to share in the Spirit and not neccesarily looking to get married? Getting married again? I truly don't see that happening again in my life for several reasons, with my health being at the top of that list.

When I look back in recent years, I think coming to this town was a bad move because nothing but negative things have happened since I left El Paso, Texas. Perhaps it's the path God has chosen for me but I don't know that I'll ever understand why???

The pleasure is all mine. Yes, I love that commercial and the way he looks at her when that song comes on about the ex's in Texas, lol. It's really funny how he sings "Rocky Mountain High" too.

Are you close to Amarillo? I have a friend that lives there.

I am roughly 5 hours due south of Amarillo in San Angelo, Texas. This is a great little town but, it's 4 to 5 hours minimum from any major city which can be a bummer at times? I'm 5 hours from Dallas/Ft Worth, 4 hours from San Antone, 7 hours from El Paso, roughly 8/9 hours from Houston and 2 hours from Midland/Odessa. I'm in the middle of nowhere, lol.

Sticksville, huh? When you say "little town" what's the population? I lived in a small town before, maybe you've heard of it? Jacksonhole, Wyoming? It was about 5,000 people but all spread out, and everybody knew everybody AND everybodies business. It was VERY interesting living there, but I really liked it.

With the population at the military base (Goodfellow Air Force Base), they claim our population is roughly 90K which is considered a small town by Texas standards, lol.
