  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I know right?
It's not an ordinary chick flick.

Fat Amy and the asian girl were pretty hilarious! My stomach hurt from laughing.
They even have an album out for their songs in the movie! Sweeet

I think the song I liked best was Titanium. :)
The way they sang it in the bathroom was super cool and extra funny.

@Rhamiel You should watch it. I highly recommend it. :)

@Luna1991 If not for the subtitles I wouldn't really have known what she was trying to say. hahaha!

@eley my sister's been practicing that song too with the matching cup for the beat, like what Beca did. She still needs to work it out though. XD

Pitch Perfect
Not Dove Family Approved

Theatrical Release: 10/5/2012

Reviewer: Dick Rolfe

Synopsis:
Beca (Anna Kendrick) is that girl who'd rather listen to what's coming out of her headphones than what's coming out of you. Arriving at her new college, she finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together, in the new out-loud comedy Pitch Perfect.

Dove Worldview:
"Pitch Perfect" is a perfect rip-off of TV's "Glee" except these kids are in college, which allows for more "adult" behavior, like drinking, talking dirty, engaging in sexual remarks and pranks, including one lesbian who takes every opportunity to "hook up" with the other girls in her acappella group. And there's one well-endowed girl who admits to having "lots of sex."
The main story focuses on a boy and girl (surprise) who are destined to get together in the end, despite the predictable misunderstandings and other conflicts we expect to see in a typical boy-girl tryst. Highlights are some very impressive performances put on by the all-boy and an all-girl acappella singing groups competing for the national championships.
The dialog is salted with way too many cutesy phrases like "aca-politics," "aca-pologize" and "aca-[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]es" The music is really quite good and except for one line uttered by a lesbian, "I'll make you my queen," the soundtrack might be considered family friendly. The movie, however, is definitely an "aca-problem" and misses out on Dove's Family Approved Seal.

Rating Descriptions

Sex: girl admits to having "lots of sex"; lesbian makes passes at several girls; boy and girl kiss; many suggestive gestures during a performace

Language: JC-1; <edit>

Violence: fist-fight breaks out; girl kicks boy in the groin

Drugs: one reference to smoking marajuana; drinking at an outdoor party

Nudity: close-up of boy in a speedo swimsuit; cleveage; two girls and a guy talking while naked in the shower (nothing shown on screen); girl with see-thru t-shirt; girl rips open blouse during performance

Other: girl vomits during performance

You are in sin if you enjoy such sinful entertainment, we are to live holy as our lord lived holy, we are to separate ourselves from the sinful pleasures of the world, it is not right that people who call themselves Christian support such a film.

How about turn off the darkness and turn on some light, and spend more time reading your bibles and praying.

Aw. I don't think that I already sinned when I watched the said film.
As long as I don't do whatever you think that that movie conveys.
Just enjoy life and music. That's it.

I think you may want to watch it yourself before you pass judgment :D

You guys have to checkout Rebel Wilson in her other stuff - she has had her own tv series here in Australia - called Bogan Pride - so good if you like her different type of humour

A mature person should be able to decide to watch something for the sake of drama/comedy without needing to be absorbed by it. As long as we are informed & have a prepared mindset.
