Pink Panther

We went to see Pink Panther today. I may have seen the original with Peter Sellers, but cannot recall it.
Steve Martin was as good as could be expected, but the movie was good what with the special effects and jokes. I noticed nothing bad or unGodly in it, so thats a good thing (also unusual).
I recommend it.

Peter Sellers was Jacques Clouseau. Thats it and thats all of it

No one....and...I do mean no one can replace him. I have all the original Pink Panther movies on DVD.

I dont like Steve Martin as an actor and I REALLY dont like them re-making the Pink Panther movies.

NO ONE is as good as Peter Sellers at playing Clouseau.

I Love Peter Sellers and own the Pink Panther collection,plus "The Party",but I also love Steve Martin and from the commercials I have seen,there could not be a better choice to play Inspector Jacques Clouseau in a modern remake.Appears he does a great job of portraying the "naivete" and innocence of the catastophes he causes around him,LOL! I am looking forward to catching this,and hope I don't change my opinion then.

i went to see the new one last night, and it was the first movie in about 3 years that made me laugh till i cried. i loved it.

I'm still going to be very cautious in approaching this film. I LOVE the original Pink Panthers (ahhh Kato and the wanton destruction of property with his scenes) and I've known them since I was about... 6. So asking me to like some new actor take over for Sellers... we'll have to see. I'm generally pretty liberal about remakes and sequels, but I just can't see this new one being as good as the originals.

Ebert & Roeper gave it "two thumbs down". There comment was "with all the original Peter Sellers films still available, why bother?". I agree. I also own all the originals on DVD.
