Well, I'll be darned! I was wrong. That's really interesting... So, only factory CDs use pits from master dyes but CDs from CD burners use dye. Interesting... Thanks for the heads up!
Actually, you might be right (or right in the wrong way)...I'm not sure what the dye is and will look it up but since there is a change in the opaqueness of the dye, that implies that there is indeed a chemical change when energy is applied, and therefore a potential change in mass, albeit a tiny, tiny one...but still a likely necessary one?
Don't forget interpretation as well, without that information is quite useless. However, I think this whole tangent about CDs and weight misses the major point: All information is transmitted through, presented by, and exists in a medium that has mass or its energy equivalent.
Don't forget interpretation as well, without that information is quite useless.
information must be decoded by the same way it was encoded. By the same software house (if you would). If I was speaking in spanish and you spoke german it would not matter what info I was relaying. So you are correct.
The point is that information is an abstract idea. It doesn't exist without the physical, matter and energy as we understand it.
But you have realized it, right?Almost, correct. But we as matter must interpret it, but we work in quantum with things in other dimensions and do not realize it. Information in it's eternity can be affecting us and we would not realize it. So it doesn't require matter to exist, just to be heard or interpreted. But then again who are we to say that information is not interpreted in a alternate dimension without mass. So you are almost right.
But you have realized it, right?
So you've invented concepts of other dimensions (or 'realized' as you call it) that you have no idea how to explain how it affects anything in practice?realizing the concept and realizing it as a practice is two separate things
So you've invented concepts of other dimensions (or 'realized' as you call it) that you have no idea how to explain how it affects anything in practice?
Edit: Or please explain what you mean with the whole 'realizing concept' vs 'realizing in practice'.
Hypothetical. Knowing isn't a part of that term.science knows that there are other dimensions. Science does not know how other dimensions affect us exactly and on a daily basis. It's in the hypothetical only.

He didn't lie. Adam and Eve were immortals. When they ate of the tree of knowledge they entered mortality and thus would die and we all do now.Well cheat and steal maybe. He lied to Adam and Eve, telling them they'd die the day they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Which in itself is another can of worms), then Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his only son (Don't gimme this "IT WAS A TEST" because it required lying).
Cheating ... I'll give you that one. You can't really cheat when the players all agree that you make the rules (But when they don't on the other hand...).
You got me on stealing.
I beg to differ.
So, do you concede now that information doesn't exist without matter or its energy equivalent, now?
Hypothetical. Knowing isn't a part of that term.
Also, the properties of those hypothetical dimensions are unknown.

My point was that you seem to claim knowledge over those hypothetical dimensions, knowledge no one else has.
Define "information" first and then we can take it from there!
