Photographic Competitions?

Would people be interested if we started a photographic competition?

Where people would submit there best photos, and members would select a top 10 or so and then people would vote on them?

This could be a monthly, half year or yearly thing.

The winner would win a prize...

For those who are not sure...

Each person would pay a small entrance fee of 5 blessings to enter there photo... We would then ask everyone to vote for the top 10, which will then go into a poll to find the winners... prizes

First place = 200 blessings
second = 100 blessings
third = 50 blessings

As the competition goes on and gets more popular the prizes will go up

I think it's a great idea. I would definitely submit some shots. However, would there be different categories - or just any photo you wanted to submit? I can do really good close-up shots of flowers, but some other things I need to work on.

it depends on how popular we get... I think to start with it will be free for all, and then hopefully into cats. with then a overall winner...

Category ideas for future competitions:

portrait
black & white
a colour
a mood or emotion
still life
children
action shot

These are pretty general, but we could also get more specific, if anyone was willing to take a photo specifically for a contest.
