I can say that up to now, Philippines is still depending on USA.. so, I can't really say that we're independent..Belated happy Independence Day to the Pilipinos on these boards. Although, I'd rather wish your country this on July 4 (1946) when independence from the USA was realized (true, lasting independence).

many thanks, jlujan.. well, we have been independent for more than 50 years or so. now, my only wish for my country is to be free from poverty and inequities.Belated happy Independence Day to the Pilipinos on these boards.
