I had seen a discussion on which books do not appear in the lectionary and suggested Philemon. I am more familiar with the 1 year lectionary. Turns out, it appears once in year 'C' in the 3 year cycle. In fact, in 2 Sundays.

I always enjoyed the letter to Philemon. It shows Paul’s character in ways the other letters don’t. It also forces us to look at Scripture in context. Slavery was not quite what we see it as today. In some places, it was a brutal degradation of humanity. In other places, it was just a little worse that modern employment. It also shows that Christians in every station of society are out brothers and sisters.
