Phil Robertson Fired from Duck Dynasty!

"One of the stars of the biggest cable show of all time has been suspended by the A&E Network following his recent comments on homosexuality.

The Background: In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Phil Robertson, the 67-year-old patriarch of the Robertson family, was asked, "What, in your mind, is sinful?" Robertson responded:

Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men," he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: "Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right.

We never, ever judge someone on who's going to heaven, hell. That's the Almighty's job. We just love 'em, give 'em the good news about Jesus—whether they're homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort 'em out later, you see what I'm saying?

After his comments were criticized by gay and lesbian groups, Robertson released a statement through A&E:

I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.

That didn't dissuade his LGBTQ critics, though, so A&E placed him on "indefinite suspension." The network said in a statement:

His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely."

I am furious about this so tired of the double standard! And so tired of the "tolerant" crowed that is clearly only "tolerant" of ONE opinion! I will never watch anything on A&E ever again!

Governors, former Vice Presidential nominees -- just about everybody has an opinion about the "Duck Dynasty" brouhaha.

Sarah Palin was one of many of the show's fans to take to social media after news hit that Phil Robertson had been indefinitely suspended by A&E following his controversial statements about homosexuality in an interview with GQ Magazine.

Palin went on Facebook to voice her reaction, charging that the suspension is an attack on freedom of speech.

“Free speech is an endangered species,” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself with the cast of the show. “Those ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us.”

I also find this ridiculous. I believe he's a good man and I truly enjoy his show. He's not gay bashing, so what is the problem? I'm a little tired of EVERYTHING that ANYBODY says being offensive. You can make anything offensive if you want to, but what's the point? To have something to complain about? I don't get it.

If you actually read the quote of what he said. He didn't just take a stab at homosexuality he took at stab at all sexual sin, drunks, terrorist all kinds of sin! They can not tell me they didi not know what they were getting into when they hired this family they knew they were Bible Believing Christians so to know act so surprised by his opinion is bull crap!

As the fallout from Phil Robertson's comments on homosexuality continues to rain down, some say its time to put a fork in "Duck Dynasty," while others think the hit show has a few quacks left in it. On Wednesday, following intense criticism from gay rights groups and others, A&E announced that the patriarch of the duck-hunting family had been placed on "indefinite hiatus" following his comments to GQ magazine.

A source close to the show tells FOX411 that even if Robertson apologized, at this point, A&E is done with him.

Which does, indeed, put a whole new light on the story.

But I'm confident DD can move to another network, reinstate Phil, and not miss a beat.

My question would be if this is as close a knit family as they claim, why haven't the remaining family members stood behind their father and take a stand against A&E? But of course, when your father and uncle have had alcohol and drug problems in the past and you flop at owning a winery yet persist in making sure your name is put on wine bottles, I guess the question has been answered. I would hope the family will portray now what they preach on their show. Never been a fan, never will be.

Because like him they have contracts you can't just break them. I am sure there has been some meeting with lawyers going on to figure out their next move. But if they don't want to face giving them a ton of money or jail time they have to play their cards right.

If it were my family, money would not mean jack! You can pay your way out of contracts just as they will pay Phil for breaking their side of the contract. As a business owner I have been through it three times. Either stand for what you preach or sit down where you belong. You missed my point completely

Please tell me where I gave your judgmental arrogance the insinuation that drinking was a sin? Tell me where I even stated remotely that their sin wasn't covered? But since you have judged me, do let me set the record straight! I do not believe a drink in moderation is a sin, but I do believe that which I do that causes my brother to stumble or sin is a sin (would you agree that that point is scriptural?). Does Willie owning a winery mean his father or uncle are going to stumble in the sin they have so long resisted? But does Willie owning a winery possibly lead to many others perhaps stumbling at the hands of a believer even have a remote chance of stumbling? Surely it does. Are the sins of believers covered under Christ death? You bet your sweet cheeks they are! Do I need 24 or less or more to stand behind my family regardless the situation? In answer to the first question herein, I did not "insinuate" or accuse you of saying drinking is a sin. That isn't even on the radar in the post. And as to Willie owning a winery, that is not for you to judge whether it is "sinful" or a temptation for his father and uncle. I can't begin to speak for them either, though it would be my guess that men of faith would have discussed the issue before Willie bought the winery, and it is unlikely Willie and his wife drink in front of them. Therefore, your diatribe regarding Willie's winery, and the one I've quoted herein directed towards me, was wasted space and an unnecessary irritation of billions of electrons.

If you deny that, then you deny God's word, not mine and your issue is with God Himself, not me. I find very amusing the efforts many go to remove God's word to fit society. Sure study all his material and work out especially run before he goes. Most people think they have time to learn the material at bootcamp the reality is they want you to know it before you go. They start drilling you the day you get there. Bootcamp sucks you just have to do as your told and keep your mouth shut and your head down. But once you get through that it's just like a normal job. Bootcamp is designed to be hard they make it hard on purpose it is not like the normal Navy. If he loves to travel and loves the ocean he will enjoy it. It is a great opportunity to see the country and the world. Remind him that he needs to always go into it thinking about what he can get out of the Navy not what the Navy can get out of him you have to leaner how to manipulate the politics. Always keep a clean record from day one do your very best and stay away from partying. If you even have one thing on your record you are done. There are so many people in the Navy now they can be choosy so they only want smart straight up hard working sailors if you are a screw up they will kick you out or make it so you can never rank up. So keep your nose clean do a good work and get every bit out of the opportunities they give you. =]
