I just started playing though the remade version of Phantasy Star II on the PSII... in Japanese.

I HATE kanji (Chinese writing)... At least the Mega Drive version is only in the phonetic alphabets. The PS2 version uses kanji... it's brutal trying to work through a game like this!

I remember playing through Phantasy Star I, II and III oh so many years ago (and I did play PS IV later on). Phantasy Star I is still one of my most favorite RPG games ever. Then again I'm being a tad biased because it was also the first RPG I ever played. Sega Master System - the game was regularly $60, but I picked it up on special for around $15 and since I didn't have anything else to play and I wanted to play something new... home it went. I never regretted that choice.

Good choice!

I'm a pretty big fan of Phantasy Star II and IV. I did play I, but it was long after I finished IV, so it's hard for me to hold it in such high regard... through no fault of its own! III is...ok.
