Petitions for the Shrine at Lourdes...[open]

Our dear friend, Cat59, will be making a pilgrimage to Lourdes very soon with a very special group of people. She has graciously and kindly offered to carry any petitions we may have to the Shrine there.

I am off soon to Lourdes on an annual pilgrimage at Easter with a group called HCPT The Pilgrimage Trust. It's the 50th annual trip and over 5000 people, including 2000 disabled, sick and disadvantaged children will be spending a week in the town of Lourdes having a very special time.
If anyone has any prayers they would like me to pass onto the group I'm going with and to ask our priest to remember in Mass there, please let me know in this thread or via pm.
(I'll also send postcards, as usual to those who ask!)

Perhaps when you pray you could remember our groups 10 special child guests, one of whom has been in hospital for a year, that they get to and from Lourdes safely and happily...

But our Lady wouldn't shut out the sound of another voice, either.

I know I have so many prayers I could pass along that Cat would have to carry another suitcase. So, I'm just asking her to remember me and mine to our Blessed Mother, and trust that Mary can sort it out.

This is ironic.

Yesterday my daughter and myself were sick. She had a fever of 102.2 and even after meds.
And I was well medicated and past the fever part...but we were both sick...so we laid in my bed, and I put in the movie "The Song of Bernadette."
Which is about St Bernadette from Lourdes.

She asked if ppl still went there. I have seen a site online that is 'virtual' and shows you 24/7 who is there...its like watching a security camera.

I dont see many going there .... But I am so glad that she answered me in this thread.

I am so glad you are going on a pilgrimage... and now the child guests are in my intentions.

Which is why I just want mine to be simplified.

Look at it during Easter week- that is when the "season" starts- it's so cold and wet there before then!
Between Nov to March Lourdes is quiet and empty.
But it will be crowded when we go!
And you can follow the Pilgrimage I am going on by using the link in the OP- they will have links to the "webcams" plus details of what is happening each day on the site. You could show your daughter...

Hey Cat!

I would be so grateful if you would take a prayer petition for my sister Kitty. She's had severe depression and suicidal tendancies for most of her life and it's eating her up physically as well. I can see that God has and is still working trying to get through to her but I would be so blessed if you would offer her to our Lady of Lourdes.

I will do.
What I have always done before is light a candle for everyones intentions and also write them out on a paper that I place into the intentions box which is in the grotto. Every day the box is emptied and all those whose petitions are placed there are remembered at one of the many masses that occur there.
I will do this again this year.
And my group are always happy to pray for anyone who asks. We will be having daily mass at which we remember all who need it...

Bumping this because it's nearly 2am here, I'm awake and have fused the lights in the downstairs bit of the house.

I've just got back from our get together with all the group (the 10 children and the helpers) and it's going to be a busy week in Lourdes, starting from next Saturday!
But the group would love to remember anyone who asks for their prayers, and would also ask for prayers that the children and helpers get to and from Lourdes safely and have a wonderful time...
