• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I know I have asked this before but the question never got answered, can someone who is not saved get the peace of God. I'm talking about the peace beyond understanding the one that just fills your body soul and spirit. The one that just overwhelms you and makes you feel loved, blessed and just on top of the world.

Wow. That's a tough one. Also, I'm not sure if this belongs here in the OCD forum. We may have to move it to one of the theology forums, would that be okay?

Can someone who does not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior have the peace of God in their lives?

I don't think so, mostly because Jesus is our peace. Without Jesus Christ's payment of our penalty of sin, we are debtors to the enemy, Col. 2:14.

BUT, the ungodly who don't know Christ can still live peaceful, lovely lives. This was the confusion of the psalmist who wrote Psalm 73. He couldn't understand how the ungodly seemed to have such nice, peaceful, wealthy lives when he himself was suffering, broken and hurting. But then, he says, he went into the sanctuary and understood. He realized that they may seem to have it all together--but they will not have eternity in heaven. He also realized that his own suffering kept him from being proud and abusive, like they were. Read psalm 73 and see if you agree.

I've struggled with this one as well. Here is the bottom line answer. To have the peace of God which passes all understanding, and will go with you into eternity you must have Christ.
