PDX Christ Follower had a very good point about the importance of medical marajuana. I work for a hospital and I see pain on a daily basis. My wife suffers chronic pain, pain is everywhere. Tension is everywhere. Back during the early days of the use of weed things were calm, very mild. People were giving, friendly, gentle, and those things are missed in today's times. Panic atttacks are not something that's met only by the use of benzo's for many people. They simply don't take to the use of pills. So, for me, I say that PDXChristFollower should be allowed his thread. I don't use it myself since it's restrictions are far too damaging and why is that? Because where money is involved, everyone wants a piece of the action. People's lives are destroyed by calling the use of this medication a felony. That is very unfair. It saved PDX his sanity and for that I applaud the need to promote medical marajuana for him and for those who need it. Where's the sin in that?

I lived through those "early days" of the "love generation" (started HS in 1969), so I can tell you firsthand that hippies and drugs were NOT the reason that people were different. Society was different in general back then because God, in a very real sense, was still part of everyday living. As a result, people in all walks of life, even us hippies, had more regard for one another than we do today.

You failed to mention the "dark side" of weed, but not to worry, here's a quote from someone right in the middle of the late 60's hippie/drug movement to render his expert opinion for us. From his Q & A style autobiography, he writes (in small part):
Q: Many people relate drugs with sorcery, shamans, witchcraft, and the demonic. Do you?
I believe drugs are the gateway to the occult. The magic arts come from the original word pharmakia, from which we get the word pharmacy. Those involved in sorcery get high on drugs in order to make it easier to contact demons, and they are soon possessed by them. Charles Manson is a typical example of one who became possessed by evil spirits through drugs. Today, millions of young people are in bondage to Satan through the use of drugs without even knowing it.

Most people using drugs claim there aren't any harmful effects from drugs. But drugs act as a tool to open the mind, and leave you defenseless against evil spirits entering in and taking possession. Ninety percent of those who belong to the Church of Satan started on drugs. Manson's Right-Hand Man Speaks Out by Charles "Tex" Watson.
Does "weed" have its place today? In a controlled environment for medical purposes, sure. But beyond that, I don't think so.

Yours and His,
David

It seems to have legitimate medical value. I was told some years ago that I might be a candidate for glaucoma, so...;)

The only reason why there's so much reluctance on the part of our plutocratic, godless government to legalize it is because they haven't found a way to tax it.

This thread reminds me of a corny but cute joke... "Heyyy dude, I read in High times magazine that the most popular word of the year is 'ear' mannn". Second person..."Ear"? "yeahh dude, ear". "No way, mannn"! "Sure mannn, check it out"... toke...toke..." EEAARRR"!!!

Not sure if this is acceptable material but as Larry the cable guy says.. "Now that there was funny. I don't care who you are.
