• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

There is a section in 2 Corinthians chapter 12 where the apostle Paul discusses a problem he had and relates it to a thorn. This helped a lot to understand my OCD and God's reasoning for giving people certain problems:

PAUL'S THORN (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

" 7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. "

24. of the Jews five times recieved I forty stripes save one.
25.Thrice was I beaten with rods (different from the beatings listed in the previous verse) once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep. (adrift in the open sea for a night and day and wasin constant danger of drowning)

26.In journeyings often, in perils of water, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own country men, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils of the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren.
27. In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. KJV BIBLE

Roseglass:

Paul's Thorn. When I read that for the first time, I felt the Holy Spirit stir within. It gave me so much inspiration and understanding of my BDD/OCD/PTSD.

God Bless You for bringing up Paul and his thorn in his side.
