Prayer for Understanding


My mind does not understand that which God knows best.
My heart recognizes God,
Because God speaks directly to my heart.
My mind and heart do not concur when contemplating God.

I pray, Dear God, that one day I will find
The peace of God that comes to those
Whose minds and hearts can acquiesce
To God's Great Wisdom and Tenderness,
And set aside my own desires
So I will recognize the counsel of the Lord
To do as He deems best.
