  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In the 5th century, Patrick was captured from his English home as a youth by Irish pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland, which at that time was a fierce land controlled by warring tribes. After a number of years, he received a vision from God telling him about a ship that would take him back to England. Patrick walked many miles across terrain he knew nothing about, being led by the Spirit of God, until he came to the ocean shore and he saw the ship of his vision. And this ship did indeed return him to his home.

But God then told him that he was to go back to Ireland and spend his life preaching across the savage island. Because Patrick forgave those who had enslaved him, he was able to go to them with the love of Jesus, with no bitterness or impediment in his heart. As a result, he baptized over 120,000 Irishmen — and the reverb of this throughout the ages has, I imagine, led millions to a heavenly destiny. He was a Revolutionary of Love. Join the Revolution!
