  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A Tennessee pastor who reportedly shut down his church, seized control of the congregation’s cash and real estate, then took up another preaching job in a different town has agreed to return control of the church’s assets to the congregation following pushback from members.

Never give the deed or bank accounts to a single person. I hope the new church fires him. Some pastors are becoming very demanding. I know of one church where the Pastor was fired (doctrinal issues I believe) and was suing the church because their buyout offer of like 100k in severance was too low to him. It was a church of maybe 100.
Seems similar in both cases to the sons of Eli, (I Sam. 2) As priests they were overcharging for their duties. (Eli's sons too were committing immorality as well.) God said He would replace them with ones of his heart and mind. I pray that happens to these Tennessee churches and any others where the motivation is money or other things and not people.
