SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - A pastor and his wife have been charged with arson in a fire that gutted their church last week, authorities said Tuesday.

Well...my take on this is that he is innocent until proven guilty, but it ain't looking too good for him. I'd like to know why they have arrested the wife.

They must have something on her as well, or they wouldn't have arrested her too. If I kill someone, they don't arrest my wife just because I'm married to her.

I will attentively watch how this one pans out. I'm sure we'll get more details shortly.

I was thinking along this route too, until I realized they arrested the wife. If they acknowledged the clothes having gasoline on them, they must have something on the wife. Its only speculation, but maybe she confessed to some involvement or cover-up of the incident.

We'll only know when they let us know, I suppose.

Either way this pans out, its a tradegy. The real victims are the church-goers who have invested so much in that building and its programs.

I agree, This is a terrible event for all of those who have invested more than money for the church. It was their home too.

I'm sure they did. All buildings must be insured under law. And all insurance must cover fire damages.

Forensic prevents many of these mistakes being made. I am sure they will exam everything from the type of oil used to shoe prints found at the season that contain trace amounts of that type of gasoline. There are many experts around the country on arson.

He's a Pastor for goodness sakes. Even though he's accused of arson, surely when asked straight out he wouldn't lie.

Oh yes, he's the victim right? We always must assume that someone who would so such a thing is just a victim of the government right? Oh, wait those are your (used in a broad sense of 'conservatives') usual lines... Oh well...interesting...

I think he did it. Why wouldn't he want the people of his church to talk to the police about it, unless he was guilty? Wouldn't he want the person to get caught, if he didn't do it?
