Hi everyone! I went off of birth control last December. I was on the birth control pill for a few months I think early this year but I don't remember for sure. I was on the Depo Provera shot for around 5 years. I still haven't gotten my menstrual period back yet. What on earth is going on? I know it can take up to 2 years to get it back but its been almost an entire year and this is beginning to worry me. Should I be worried? What is your experience with this? Could it affect my future fertility?

The shot will do that, actually it's really common with the shot, which is why I never wanted to use that form of birth control. I think your problems are more because of that than the pill, but I don't have an MD.....so get yourself to the doctor and ask him/her this.

I would if I had health insurance and could afford a doctor. :sigh: That is why I am asking here. I want to know if depo provera has the ability to affect one's future fertility. I'm honestly not worried about the pill though as I was only on it for a month or two.

Call Planned Parenthood. Now I know many Christians are against Planned Parenthood but they offer Women's health exams and treatment on a sliding scale and in some bigger cities free. They will ask you for medical history and financial info, you will have a full Pap & Pelvic and they are really good.

I had to have a procedure done for Abnormal cells and they did it for 10th the cost any other doctor/hospital would have done it.
