Does anyone here feel passionate about life and God? How do you find this passion? I'm tired of coming home from church feeling nothing and life stinks and can't get the passion to move on. Where did you find this passion. If you've ever heard John Piper in his videos you can just feel the passion coming from him. If only I could have a third of that I could move in ways I never could before. Give me advice on this.

Talking about church, I have read how people have this passion for God in the liturgy, either Lutheran, catholic, etc. They can't wait to have this time with Him and any changes to the liturgy means that the passion dwindles (at least for them). They seem more connected to God and can see things more spiritually. I figure if I could have this passion for God, and life in general, I could push past the fear and insecurities within and push on in life despite everything else falling around me.

I hope you don't think I'm brushing off your thread with my responses...but I really want to explain this...

Clinging to the Savior will bring us more than we ever hoped for. Those people you see with passion...they didn't start off wanting passion. They wanted and needed a Savior and one was provided.

As Lutherans, we point to Christ and the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Therein lies our hope and joy and salvation. The gospel changes us.

If you're looking for passion...look further into the Christ. Not that you don't know Him. But look more to Him and what He has done. Advent is a wonderful season for this! I'm so excited for what God has done...that passion is nothing about me...but all about Him :)

God bless!

I am very passionate now, but I wasn't always. It took me a long time of searching and turning to Jesus. I agree with the poster above that Advent is a wonderful time to turn to Him. I do very much look forward to service every week, it makes me feel closer and full of emotional. :o)
