  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Heya!
I'm very happy to have stumbled across this forum!
I'm looking to become a part of a community of Christians who are non-judgemental towards other people and other faiths. I'm not sure where my own theology fits in regards to this forum, maybe time will tell. I take a broad view of how God can be defined and believe He (though gender less) resides in all things in some capacity. My purpose in life is to be a conduit for the presence of God and be an ambassador. I tend to pull wisdoms from a variety of faiths including paganism, Sikhism, yoga.

In the practise of my faith, I am part of my local church and volunteer on the music team and for crèche. I also run a playgroup for 0-4 though this is currently on hold until my newborn gets all vaccinations.

Oh yea! I am married to an awesome man and talented guitarist. I have two kids both boys, 2yo and 3week old.

I love to sing and play guitar, get outside in the garden and creating opportunities to connect with people. Hope to make some firm friends here.

Welcome Rinari!

The Christian faith is indeed open to all who seek God, to every people and every nation. Those who know Christ are happy to spread the good news of His coming. So, I do hope you feel welcome and have a good experience and make friends. But I would not be such a good friend, if I did not address your interest in other faiths.

It is fine and understandable and even quite harmless to learn about other faiths. But to partake of them is a different matter. God has made it perfectly clear that He is a jealous god, and that we shall have not other gods.

All the best to you!

Hi Rinari,

I'm pantheistic too. I also see value in all faiths (and folly too, for those who refuse to see beyond their own beliefs).

Welcome to the forums. I hope you make lots of new friends.

Welcome to the forums! I am new here too. I noticed that you consider yourself a Panentheist. This is not correct. Panentheism is most definitely not biblical. In fact, it is extreme heresy that impugns the character of God and makes Him more like a man. God is present everywhere (Psalm 139:7-8), but God is not everything. God knows everything, whether actual or possible (Psalm 139:1-6; Romans 11:33-35). God does not learn because He already has all knowledge. God is “affected” by things that occur in the universe, but only in that sin angers Him and holiness pleases Him. Our actions do not change God or impact His essential being.
Scott mentioned the Ten commandments earlier in the thread
The first two of Gods ten commandments read:
  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make idols.
God is not the world, although is is everywhere. You don't worship the world do you?
The Bible presents God as holy (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8), sovereign (1 Chronicles 29:11; Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 37:20), omnipresent (Psalm 139:7-10), omniscient (Job 28:24; Psalm 147:4-5), omnipotent (Job 42:1-2), self-existent (Exodus 3:14; Psalm 36:9), eternal (Psalm 90:2; Habakkuk 1:12), immutable (Psalm 33:11; James 1:17), perfect (Deuteronomy 32:3-4), and infinite (Job 5:9; 9:10). None of these attributes are compatible with panentheism. God transcends all of His creation, and is in no sense limited or changed by events in His creation.
May you find the full truth and accept Christ as your savior. I don't type this to be mean or hurtful, but to help you that you may be guided back to truth. You say you also practice Yoga. Yoga is a form of self worship. Yoga originated with a blatantly anti-Christian philosophy, and that philosophy has not changed. It teaches one to focus on oneself instead of on the one true God. It encourages its participants to seek the answers to life's difficult questions within their own consciousness instead of in the Word of God. It also leaves one open to deception from God's enemy, who searches for victims whom he can turn away from God (1 Peter 5:8). I don't know enough about Sikhism to comment, although we should not be led astray with false teachings. Follow God, the truth, the one Christian faith. We should not be practicing or making provision for anything else that is not of the truth which is in God. There is no value in anything except that in Christ, because the world is passing away.

...That's quite impossible..
Apparently so! lol.

I think Panentheism must be a new term to some people. Here is a link to clear things up:
There is a difference between Pantheism and Panentheism.

I'm very disappointed a couple of people here have simply judged me and my beliefs without even asking what lead me to make changes to my once very staunch fundamentalist faith or what aspects I might be borrowing and how they may be compatible with Christianity or how I felt lead to practice.

I hope, The Hammer of Witches, that you didn't spend too long composing your post.

Find me in the Whosoever Will Come May boards.
