Actually, my question is more concerning the lyrics of those two songs.

It seems to me that they are claiming some sort of Prophetic Ministry.

Could you guys give me your interpretations?

I don't see the connection on "Rediculous" - I take it as a guy who has to listened to everyone's garbadge- namely people's criticisms - and the guy is just getting fed up with it.

On "Messenjah" the lyrics are fully supported by scripture - i.e. "...word of life came alive in the scripture..." They are also proclaiming their devotion and love for Christ's sacrifice and that they would literally "die" for the faith if necessary to prove it. I don't have a problem with that at all... It's quite inspirational imo...

I have no problem with the reference to the Sacrifice.

I am speaking specifically of the first couple lines of each of the songs.

Well - I can't remember either song word for word off the top of my head - how about posting the specific lyrics you have an issue with so we know what you are talking about...
It seems that they are claiming a prophetic ministry.

Now, please, don't get me wrong. I love their sound, and I am just waiting to pop in my Southtown Disk (far superior to Sattellite) as soon as I get this cleared up (if I do).

Hey guys. I think its wrong to judge as to if they are Christians are not. Also, about the tattoos, as a friend of mine put it: Our bodies are temples for the Lord and people decorate temples...so if the tattoos are God pleasing and magnifying..whats the problem?

Tattoos are not the issue for me. It is the songs I am concerned about.

We are to judge some things. We are not to be judgemental, but we are to judge things.

If they are false prophets, we have the resposiblity to find out.

We cannot blindly walk through this world and say "everthing's okay".

I don't see those lyrics as prophetic, but as a statement of scripture and our calling.

Aren't we supposed to be reaching out to all in anticipation of the second coming?

Aren't we supposed to find the truth in the world and weed out the lies?

Seems pretty scripturally based to me...

I have to agree with Greg - I see it as simply that POD felt they were called into the ministry of sharing the gospel through their music - although lately they haven't been answering that calling IMO. Make no mistake - I believe the songs in question are sound inspirational songs - its there latest joke of a CD that I have issues with - i.e. its lack of any clear-cut gospel message as well as the PS2 disk that came with it that seriously calls the band's character into question as far as I'm concerned. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!

Awesome, but thats not what I am saying. TRUST me There aren't many things I judge as OK. But we aren't the ones who judge people's sins. People are saying They aren't Chritians. That is what i was refering to.

I truly don't think their music is leading to anything prophetic other than what is already given in the Bible such as the Second Coming. We are to proclaim Christ and His glorious return. I think that's what their songs are doing there.

Also in their new album I think the majority of the songs are very Spirit driven. I mean the song I and Identify is speaking directly about 1st Corinthians 13 and alot of their other songs are saying we should stand up for our faith and trying to deal with our fleshly wants. Maybe the music is different, but hey they went through some changes. I still think POD is proclaiming Christ even more than they ever have.

P.O.D. is christian. They said it themselves. They ARE NOT labeling themselves as a CHRISTIAN band, though, because they don't want to turn secular people off. In a way they are trying to reach out to those who don't know Jesus. And with the tatoo debate, I say there is nothing wrong with that. I mean, if you judge them on how they look won't you too be judged by GOD? If you look at there tatoos you will see christian symbols and verses not satanic items. My brother says they are "border line" because they don't talk openly about GOD. Well, first of all they do mention GOD's wonderful names and all he has done and that is headed in the right direction. So far, I think they are on the right path to reaching out.

oh my, that article is TOTALLY bogus! Don't these people realize that P.O.D are BORN AGAIN Christians? They could of had all those tatoos before they accepted Christ, and even if they didn't, they aren't going to hell for having one.

I too am very picky on what i listen to, I will not listen to something that is not uplifting or positive. P.O.D are totally positive. SATELLITE is a great album, the title track is really good!!
