How many times and how often can a heart be broken? To count the ways, intensity and cause would be impossible. But there is one element that plays out every single day in this fashion here on this site. Surely carried out upon unsuspecting brothers and sisters across the globe, and that element is the fallout from the antics of fake news.

But how would one know for sure without again, being dependent upon more ‘reports’ and accuracy of the professional statistician? Who would present whether a case could be made that ‘fake news’ is really all that dishonorable?

My choice would be the preacher. No middle-man to pass along another morsel of a ‘line-or-two' whatsoever. That preacher is none other than Arthur Owen Blessitt, the man known for carrying a full sized cross into every nation in the world. An acquaintance of mine was traveling across country and was napping at a truckstop. Several taps on the window by the man of God with cross asked her to join him inside for a meal. His passion for souls always runs high.

Did Arthur ever offer a response concerning the ‘news’ industry in general? Yes, though I can't find it, I heard himself say,

The news media is the most corrupt institution there is

He's not wrong. I read a book by Malcolm Muggeridge, a journalist and author who became a Christian. He claimed, and I have no reason to doubt him, that a great deal of what we see on the news is staged or slanted to present a particular point of view. He had inside knowledge, of course. Some of the riots in Ireland were set up by bored journalists. They paid kids to throw stones at the opposing side and voila, instant news. You can multiply that countless times. Reporting on Israel has to be among the most dishonest and corrupt that there is. And people just swallow it without thinking at all.

I don't know the person you refer to but fake news is relatively new or it's boldness is relatively new; But it is linked to activities of the beast which include rewriting history, political correctness, climate change, and so on. But religious people are involved also; since the second world war Catholic Priests and Protestant Priests have removed books from school libraries, on the Reformation and Inquisitions so that the books could be replaced by more modern books showing the church in a better light.

Even news from reliable sources are such that I limit my self to one or two hours a day, and it is not just the news but the electronic noise is violent (pollution).

In the old days the news was hyped up to make good and interesting reading but you still got the news and news on the radio was only five minutes or less each hour.

Some news we need straight away but some news could be held up for a week or more, instead of every thing being an emergency with everyone sitting on the edge of their seat, but they have an agenda involving keeping us on the edge of our seats and stressed.

Jazzing up the news doesn't have to be harmful or dishonest; I do not subscribe to futurism but I enjoy Chuck Missler who did subscribe to futurism; the last DVDs I have is “Learn the Bible in 24 hrs”, very entertaining although I have taken a pause after disc five, I haven't found anything that I could recognize as uniquely Dispensationalism or Futurism yet.

New? I'm not personally aquainted with the cross bearer either, but his biography is readily available which gives strong credence to the 1985 quote. But then, you could go back another 20-yrs and hear street talk of fake news. Add to that, another 20-yrs which is why a firm installation in higher academias informing young aspiring journalists of the importance to enshrine integrity to provide informing the populace with unbiased accuracy. I DO personally know someone who sat in those classes in the late fifties.

Good one to point out. Only, why link just the obvious infractions? Remember the Apostle's words on the misdeeds of the members of the "angel of light" deception!

People spend too much time consuming things that poison the spirit. It takes a toll after awhile. This is one of the few areas (other than the devotionals) where you can get a steady stream of joy.

No wonder so many are depressed, anxious, and lonely. Too many moments in this world and not enough in the real one. :)

I don't understand why some people think it's ok to censor opinions or whatever it is someone wants to express. Even God gave us free will and freedom in all areas. So it baffles me why? Media can spread anything as truth because it's media.

So grateful that Jesus IS the Truth!
, , and if I may, grateful for His sons who are referred to as 'faithful men' (2 Timothy 2:2).

Dear 'Sunshine', hope this finds you well and blessed and in His keeping! If so, confident you already know as concerned with worldviews surrounding this profession does on a daily basis, lest a person in this line of work is steadfast in the faith, will bring down upon himself the Prophet's truth as though they themselves speak it to us today,

"All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way, ," (Isaiah 53:6)

Yet, the Lord's fisherman stands ready,

"For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls." (1 Peter 2:25)
