Hello my brothers and sisters in Christ.

During worship today in church I had a moment between God and myself, a challenge if you will. To lead at least one person, but hopefully more, to Christ before the end of the year, starting today. I felt compelled to share this with my brothers and sisters in Christ, in hopes that they may too participate.

How many people are registered here on this forum as Christians? Maybe a few hundered, maybe more? How cool would it be if we all went out together on this mission? If we could reach a few hundred people by the end of the year, thats a few hundred more brothers and sisters in Christ!

I would love to see us working together, uplifting each other here on the boards, lending support in this journey. I would love to see us keep a journal to write what methods or approaches worked and what didn't. We could compile a book together about how to witness to people by experience.

As I was thinking of this, the pastor then went on with his sermon to talk about witnessing. I did not even know that was todays teaching. I tell you this is not by chance. I feel that we do not have much time left till Christs return. Even if it isn't in our lifetime, it is still closer then it was yesterday. Each day the need becomes greater to reach out to our fellow brother and sisters. I have seen (I am guilty as well) too many christians sit at home, secure in their own faith feeling good knowing they are going to heaven. We have become lazy in our quest to spread the word. It is great that we are saved, but we need to reach out. In I John it says we know that we love God if we love our brothers, and if we love our brothers we know we love God. I say to you it extends farther then just love we need to reach out to them. For if we truly love them we will want them to share in eternal life with us.

I am not trying to tell any of you what to do, I just am sharing with you all my experience I had, and what I felt compelled to share with you all. This isnt my idea or challenge, this is God's and has been. He has commanded us to go out and speak His name. I think we have a unique opportunity here to work together, share with each other, give each other support and love.

This is a challenge to myself and would love to see others join me.
God Bless each of you!

Isn't that just God to confirm his message to you through other people! I know exactly what you mean. My youth pastor has done the same thing before, and my pastor would follow up with the same message. Let me tell you all if God wants you to hear something twice, you best be listening!

This really ties in with the sermon that I heard at church tonight. The pastor talked about the parable of the 2 sons (not the popular one, the one with the vineyard and being asked to work in it) and he talked about how we need to stop saying "Yes God, sure I'll do that" and never following through with it. Instead we need to say "yes God, I'll do that" and then do it. This really struck home tonight for me.
