  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Our Stone Is Rolled Away

We have the DVD of The Passion of the Christ and in there is a scene selection.
The first scene is of course numbered one and for anyone who has seen The Passion of the Christ they know what this scene is.
Jesus is praying to our Father God and in Mark 14:32 it states.
32/ Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane and He said to His disciples, “ Sit here while I pray.” 33/ And He took Peter, James and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34/ Then He said to them, “ My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” 35/ He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him.
And this is how the movie starts and sadly for many this is how each day begins.
They are troubled and deeply distressed and many souls are exceedingly sorrowful even to death.
And yes sadly many have chosen death as a way out.
Jesus troubled, something we choose not to see or believe.
Jesus in agony and praying earnestly to the point that His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Our savior, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, God’s only begotten Son. The One who healed, feed and walked with many was at one time in agony.
Those loving hands reaching for an answer instead of reaching to heal, and His loving eyes looking for the strength instead of looking upon many and speaking strength.
How many of us have been to this point?
Maybe you messed up, received a bad report or someone hurt you.
Jesus prayed in agony to do what He did all His life, to do for us something that we wouldn’t have to do.
Now these are my thoughts but let’s just look at one example, temptation.
The meaning of tempt: To encourage or draw into foolish or wrong course of action, to lure.
I will look in Matthew 4:1-10 and in my Extreme Word New King James Version in dark letters above chapter four verse one it states, Satan Tempts Jesus.
The first of verse one states,1/ Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
That says it all but let’s look at more.
The devil tried to tempt Jesus with food because Jesus was hungry, then the devil tried to get Jesus to attempt to take His own life.
Then the devil tried to get Jesus to worship the devil himself.
Ever been there?
You’re in distress and you hunger spiritually instead of naturally and you hear take this and it will turn to.
Maybe it’s a drug or alcohol or bad advice but the devil is there waiting to strike, waiting to tempt.
For some the voice became so convincing that they jumped.
They jumped to take their own life or into a bad situation as drugs etc. and some even worship the one tormenting them and the sorrow never ends.
Any of this could be the result of many things but always keep in mind Jesus was tempted so we could have the strength to resist temptation.
Still many give in or give up and die out from the world they know and never make it to the last scene.
The last scene is numbered thirty one but let’s look at number thirty.
In this scene Jesus is taken down from the cross after He, as it states in Mark 15:37 in my King James Version Bible, gave up the ghost.
Jesus died for us and this is the reason Jesus is being removed from the cross in this scene, and many forget that yes Jesus died on the cross for us.
Many face trials and receive the reports and some just give up the fight, give up the ghost and all they want is for someone to take them and bury them.
Bury them in the television, work, family, hobby and at times in their own house all because they gave up.
Jesus gave up the ghost so we could carry on with life, and as we all know even death couldn’t keep Jesus down.
So why do we allow anything to stop us?
Maybe you made a mistake in the form of a bad thought, word spoken or action taken and maybe you keep falling in the same area and you feel that you are on a sin repent course.
I kept falling in an area and one day I was really frustrated at myself and asked God why He continued to love me.
God told me that it is ok to fall even in the same area but learn where to fall. And before I could ask, God said stop falling on the cold hard ground and fall into the warm loving arms of your Father God.
You may not like what is spoken but you will have landed softly and
eventually with persistence you will stop falling in that area, just stay in the light.
Now when God asks me a question He usually asks.
Why is it?
I guess I must be a bit slower are hard headed because God gets to the point with.
Why is it?
For instance one question God asked me was.
Why is it that it has to be confirmed that you are forgiven before you will relax in your Father God’s love, His arms?
Why is it that you don’t relax in your Father God’s love, His arms everyday?
Stop waiting until you slip and you will find that you slip less.
Now the last scene is numbered thirty one and it shows the light coming in as the stone is rolled away.
The light shines on Jesus, He then stands and walks out of the grave.
God rolled the stone away so Jesus could walk out and God has done the same for us.
Yes God has rolled away our stone that has buried us in frustration, anger, illness and so on.
Some know that this stone has been rolled away but continue to sit there, therefore they do not enjoy the freedom of knowing.
For the ones who get up and walk out at times you may face a situation in which you may feel buried again and this is when we look at number thirty two on the scene selection.
It says directed by Mel Gibson and yes we all know that Mel Gibson directed The Passion of the Christ.
Who is directing your life, your next step?
Just a question for some to look into and once again for the ones of us who are true we must remember
Our Stone Is Rolled Away.
