What is the one dtermining factor of change to take place in our lives? What needs to happen for us to grow as a Christian? How does one increase their measure of faith? What needs to happen for us to move into the supernatural that the prophets and apostles walked with?
Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will ishis good, pleasing and perfect will.
Our mind, the way we think determines what happens to us and where we will go as Christians. All our problems are solved when we change our way of thinking.
We have all of God's fullness and glory in us when we become believers. Our spirits have been renewed by God, but our souls are being transformed. Our spirit become perfect through renewal, and our soul (flesh) will become closer to perfection by proccess, which is done by walking in the spirit. The only way this proccess can take place is through the way we think, we have to will this change. Walking in the spirit is a daily decision. (Romans 8:1-17)
Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you
Someone poor cannot become rich unless the way they think changes. Someone rich cannot become poor unless the way they think changes. One cannot change into a mighty soul winning man of God, without thinking like a mighty soul winning man of God.
2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
If we ever wonder why atheist cannot see God, it is because they are blinded. How can one understand without seeing? You can't. Faith is not nessessarily believing without seeing, for when we excercise true faith, we can see with our spiritual eyes.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
This verse refers to both natural and spiritual eyes. Natural sight can only see the horizon; hope is a spiritual exercise and it allows us to see past the horizon. Christ is our blessed assurance, yet we cannot see Him with our natural eyes.
So, if walking in the spirit bring life to you soul, to the flesh, and that life is a proccess, then we have no grounds to becomes frustrated when we don't see God move. The pace of our Christian walk is determined by us, not God. Saying this does deminish God, it is the God in us that all things are possible. We are God's hands, His vessel to the world. God had established His role in earth, and He will abide by His own rules, because He is perfect.
Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
In the end, it all comes down to what is in your belief system. Our ablity to increase faith is directly linked to the knowledge we gain, and of that knowledge what we believe.
