• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We lost of our dad he killed himself last Saturday. our mum is devastated but coping well.
We dont know why our dad did this , its something that we will never know.
We are trying to make arrangements for the funeral and his cremation.
We arent coping so well we have self injured once but feel like we need to do it again all of us feel like its a nightmare and we are in so much shock from it .
Our father has tried to kill himself twice before but that was years ago.
He was depressed but had went to the drs the day before and was to pic up the meds that day , but something must have been telling him to do this something told him to kill himself .
what it was we will never know
We just miss him so much

We all have to grow and deal with our thoughts. We have to decide what is acceptable and what isn't. How do we view things like suicide? Being tempted of suicide myself when I was a teenager, I thought about this for awhile seeking how I felt about committing such an act. I found peace in realizing that it was cowardliness to not keep believing and trying which did not appeal to me. I counted it as sin, to be avoided. Making my mind up about this at an early age has helped me through some huge depressions and in which I still have to face. I love my family and have to also help guide them in prayer through tough times. Suicide is an accident of character. We should love each other and forgive as always. Obeying (seriously obeying) the teachings and commands of Jesus is extremely helpful to have a nature of life and hope, not to mention joy & peace within horror, shame, doubtfulness and uncertainty. May God be your center and Christ your heart.

I am so sorry to hear this. Suicide is always difficult to deal with. So many questions. I am sorry that you can't pray at the moment - but you will again, sometime. For now, just try to look after yourselves, just as Jesus would. Be tender with yourselves, and hold each other. I am praying for you.
