I have recently noticed an increase of talk amongst many Christians about the end times and tribulation
So many people are trying to pinpoint specific events and signs that indicate things have started or are in the process of taking place right now….. and while I agree, there are crazy events taking place throughout the world …there will be no mistaking when the tribulation starts. My advice to Christians regarding the return is to “live as though He is coming back today…. but plan as though He is never coming” …because you can get so caught up in events and signs of the return you will “miss the forest for the trees”.
This I can promise you…. Christ is coming back….. This is an event that will happen whether we believe or not. It does not matter if you hold a post tribulation belief, or pre tribulation belief ..there is nothing you can do to accelerate or change when He is coming, and there is no way you can know when it is going to happen…this is strictly in the hands of God.
For post-tribs … Christ’s return is written in the stars, and in the gospels, with signpost throughout the OT…However no matter how smart you think you are in figuring this out…. God states in Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
For pre-tribs…… there are no signs, and nothing written in the Word of God nor in the stars as to when Christ will return…it’s going to happen in the twinkling of an eye….…. hellooooo… Jesus!
Certainly as believers we are to research (study) the Word to see how it fits together, and the end times can be exciting and addictive…..But our calling is not to get wrapped up in signs and other things that can lead you astray from your walk in Christ…Because if no one knows when…. all speculation and figuring is fruitless …unless you think you know more than God.
We have been called to walk in Christ Jesus to proclaim, teach, walk, and live in the glorious light of the Word while we are alive on earth… The some of the greatest “practical application” of your walk is written in the epistle to the church of God in Ephesians, which is a doctrinal epistle that sets the standard of right believing for the walk of the believers …and it starts in chapter Eph 4:1 and runs through 6:24
