  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just want to say something... I love Mary! And I am so thankful that God has given us EVERYTHING we could need. Not only did He save us, but He gave us an entire family of brothers and sisters, a Mother, and Jesus as our best friend and companion. If any of you feel the same way, perhaps you could post a little message exclaiming your thanks to God for all that He has done!

Christ's peace be with you!! :crossrc:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be

holy and blameless in his sight.

In love He predestined us to be adopted
as his sons through Jesus Christ,
in accordance with his pleasure and will

to the praise of His glorious grace,
which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

In him we have redemption through his blood,

the forgiveness of sins,

in accordance with the riches of God's grace

that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

And he made known to us the mystery of his will

according to his good pleasure,
which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect
when the times will have reached their fulfillment

to bring all things in heaven and on earth together
under one head, even Christ.

In him we were also chosen,

having been predestined
according to the plan of him
who works out everything
in conformity with the purpose of His will,

in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ,
might be for the praise of his glory.

And you also were included in Christ
when you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation.

Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal,

the promised Holy Spirit,

who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption
of those who are God's possession

to the praise of His Glory.

My soul doth magnify the Lord.

And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Because he that is mighty hath done great things to me;
and holy is his name.

And his mercy is from generation unto generations, to them that fear him.

He hath shewed might in his arm: he hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.

He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble.

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

He hath received Israel his servant, being mindful of his mercy:

As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear
and answer me.
Amen.

Alma Redemptoris Mater, quæ pervia cæli
Porta manes, et stella maris, succurre cadenti,
Surgere qui curat, populo : tu quæ genuísti,
Natúra mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem,
Virgo prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore
Sumens illud Ave, peccatórum miserére.

V. Angelus Dómini nuntiávit Mariæ.
R. Et concepit de Spiritu Sancto.

Oremus.
R. Amen.

Kindly Mother of our Redeemer ; great portal of heaven ever open, the sea's far-shining star : O succour thy people who though fallen strive to rise again. O thou who hast brought forth, to all nature's wonder, nature's Lord, thine own Creator : Mother yet a Virgin ever more, who at Gabriel's speaking didst receive the Ave : towards us sinners shew thy pity.

V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived by the Holy Ghost.

Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ thy Son was made known by the message of an Angel, may by his Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of the Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.
R. Amen.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our Life, our Sweetness, and our Hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, Most Gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the Blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus!

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ!

Amen!

After my Rosary Time this morning, was was walking and praying.
I'm still a new Catholic and Mother Mary was still a bit of a mistery to me. I always asked her to pray for me and my wife, but this morning as I started, I just started thanking her and praying prayers of devotion and thanks.
I didn't plan on praying this way to Her, so I was very surprised when I felt a surge of love and joy flow over me! It was such a lovely feeling! I'm so glad that I got "Properly Introduced" to Her in this way.
Praise be to Jesus!

Peace in Christ!

I am slowly beginning to see what St. Louis De Montfort was talking about in my signature. It is amazing to finally be developing a love for Our Lady as the true and pure mother of God, and I pray that I will contunie to desire love from no other woman but her.

In Christ through Mary,
-Davide

Our Mother is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit. When you make yourself present to her, He will touch you, perhaps not as discernibly as today, but He is always there.

The de Montfort quote in Rising Suns' signature:

"Mary hardly appeared at all in the first coming of Jesus Christ, in order that men, as yet but little instructed and enlightened on the Person of her Son, should not remove themselves from Him in attaching themselves to strongly and too grossly to her....But in the second coming of Christ, Mary has to be made known and revealed by the Holy Ghost in order that, through her, Jesus Christ may be known, loved and served.” [St. Louis De Montfort, True Devotion to Mary]

Our Mother is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, Charlie, When you make yourself present to her, He will touch you, perhaps not as discernibly as today, but He is always there.
That's exactly it. Mary is queen of heaven and spouse of the Holy Spirit; not because she is divine by nature like Christ it, but because God chose to bless her to the extent that she can now freely distribute God's graces as she chooses. She has been elevated by God to the motherly person in our spiritual family; no family is complete without a mother.

Think about the profound love a mother has for her child. Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ and her love for Him is deeper than any amount of love we can give each other. Everything she has and everything she is, points to her Son Jesus Christ. It is her soul purpose to bring us closer to her Son, and we see evidence of this by the many apparitions and people she has appeared to through the years. She is not up in heaven enjoying the fruits of eternal glory, but she is down here on earth sharing in our suffering in order to ease the suffering that we continue to inflict on her Son. We crucify Jesus every day when we continue in our vices and sins, and like the perfect mother she is, she continues to work endlessly to tend to the bruised and battered Body of Christ; and to save the Church, the bride of Christ; her other child.

May the Lord give you His peace!
