Others, Lord, yes Others
Let this my motto be,
Help me to live for Others,
That I might live like Thee.

How easily we forget, why Jesus saved us and of the incredible example His life was for us. There is not one example recorded where Jesus did anything that was not ultimately for the benefit of others.

I know, it is difficult to become involved in the pain of other people. And it is true that many times we make mistakes and seemingly hurt people we are trying to help.

But I would far rather hurt someone trying to help, that to see them hurt and do nothing. Besides the promise of God is that He will work ALL things together for good to those that love God and are the called according to his purpose.

If we pray and yield ourselves and allow ourselves to be led of The Spirit, there is nothing we can do that God can not make ultimately better than we intended in our own heart.

Father, stir our hearts and help us to understand your plan for your family, and how that when we follow Your command to love one another, we all benefit, because love worketh no ill. Make us vessels fit to use and then use us to make others fit.

Amen Gerry!

There are many scriptures that speak about how Jesus took compassion on others.

Compassion as defined in the dictionary reads as...  Actively sympathetic concern for the suffering of another

The word actively should say alot to us.

May we always show the same love and compassion to others that Christ has shown to us.

WOW GMI!!! You are right. That sure says a LOT to me. In fact it reminds me of James 2:15 and 16! Look how clear and plain and awesome it is in the JB Phillips Translation.

"If a fellow man or woman has no clothes to wear and nothing to eat, and one of you say, "Good luck to you I hope you'll keep warm and find enough to eat", and yet give them nothing to meet their physical needs, what on earth is the good of that?"

You are so right. We must be in some way active in the welfare of others as Jesus set the example and gave the command. And one way in which we can be active is in prayer and encouragement and in sharing the Love of Christ!
