  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll be in Australia for the next four years (starting later tonight); will be at Canberra in the Australian National University, pursuing a Bachelor of Philosophy under their Science Faculty. I'm not sure exactly what sort of research I'll pursue under the PhB, but I'm hoping some of it will have direct bearings on the cr-evo debate. Unfortunately, I don't really like biology :p but I'm thinking of looking deeper into paleoclimatology especially after a recent examination of deep-sea sediment cores and ice cores at another forum.

So, expect to see me online at slightly different times, and do keep me in prayer. And is jereth still around? He's the only Aussie I'm familiar with around here :p
