Well gang, for several years now, I've been emailing family and friends who were interested links to articles that I found of interest. Primarily, articles about news and politics from a mostly liberal or progressive political prospective, but not only that- also some cultural and scientific stuff from time to time.
Basically, it began when I realized that I would have conversations with family and friends and that we wouldn't have the same sets of facts. I'd mention something, and because it hadn't been reported prominently by a source of media they follow, they wouldn't know what I was talking about or would think I was making up things out of thin air.
It's not a discussion list, I send "Blind Carbon Copies" out, so no one can see who else is on it, and replies just go to me as individual and not everyone else.
In light of Trump's election, and my anti-Trump stance, I've already lost one person who "unsubscribed", a relative. I anticipate a few more, and it may get so small that I feel stupid sending out the emails, so I figured I'd see if this was something people I don't know are interested in and if it's worth continuing for that reason.
It's not a commercial venture, it's just something I do. More like a hobby. I'm not paid, there are no advertisements, etc..
I thought since I'm doing it anyway, I could open it up to anyone who wants to subscribe. PM your email address if you want to be added.
I try to stay under 10 emails a day, and sometimes a week will go by without even 1 email. I send stuff out when I find something of interest that I don't think everyone will necessarily see or hear about independently. Since it's not a job or anything, I do it when I feel like it. When I don't feel like it, I don't do it.
Right now because of the tragedy that occurred Tuesday night, I am going a bit over 10 emails a day, but it's going to get back to normal soon. Special circumstances.
You don't have to be liberal or progressive to get the emails. But they are from that perspective, so if it's going to annoy you, it might not be your thing. But if you're a conservative or a moderate who wants to hear the other side, maybe you'd be interested.
Anyway, I just thought I'd put that out there.
