My ¢¢ In June '21 I was involved in a serious traffic accident. I was trapped in my car and had to be cut out. I was wearing my favorite cap black with my Vietnam unit insignia embroidered on the front and miniature medals pinned to the front. In the crash my hat flew off. Later I searched for it, but it was definitely lost.
Can a born-again believer lose their salvation? I believe they can but not as the scenario I described above. They don't just get in a car accident, look around and they can't find their salvation.
How does it happen?

Hebrews 10:28-31
(28) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
(29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
(30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
(31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Note vs. 28, sinners in the O.T. "died without mercy under two or three witnesses" But this vs. says that anyone who counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite unto the Spirit of grace." Is worthy of more sorer punishment. If this was not going to happen why would the writer of Hebrews say this?
Some folks will try to argue that this passage does not refer to born again Christians but people who might have attended church or other Christian things but were not really Christian.
Vs. 29 Most certainly refers to born again Christians anyone "who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace. "
Make believe Christians have not been sanctified by the blood of the covenant. So this passage definitely refers to born again Christians who lost their salvation and their punishment is worse than those who despised Moses law, dying without mercy.
"Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Does not sound like universal reconciliation, no matter what.
