Okay, so I met with Fr. James tonight and told him everything.
His response: "There are several parochial/Christian schools in town. Let me know which ones you like, and we'll go from there. All will be well. Be at peace. "
I felt so much better talking to him. I told him that the academics at the RC schools (there are several) were very good and he agreed, but he also wants me to look at the Lutheran school. He felt that it would be much easier to deal with theology, than with worldly values....I am so relieved, I cannot tell you!!! He did say that part of his vision for our mission church is that someday we will have our very own Orthodox school!!!
But this will take years (and money) to implement.
I don't know anything about the Lutheran school, except that they are very small and their academic scores are high, in the top 2-5 percentile. Wow! The RC schools are the same. The public school she currently attends routinely scores in the top 25 percent but nowhere near that kind of attainment! :o
Homeschooling is just not an option for us ...my husband and I have some "debt" that require me to work for at least another year or two. The ironic thing is: I could make all the money required all by myself, if I went to sea for nine months. But I can't do that either. It will take me twice as long to earn, so that I don't have to leave my family...oh the irony of life...
